"We produce award-winning, honest-to-goodness 100% gluten-free as well as dairy-free and vegan baked goods for people who are celiac, gluten-sensitive, gluten-aware and health conscious.Our production facility is based on the South Shore of Nova Scotia and while we don’t have a storefront on site, you can purchase our products in online shop or find them at select retail partners across the Maritimes. I order from them regularly for delivery to my home, and sometimes am able to find their products at local shops. Always great products and packaged with care! My one wish is that they had more vegan items. But every single one that I have tried has been top notch.
I’m not gluten free, but the products from Schoolhouse Bakery are SO good I will consistently buy them, even over products with gluten. I bought a coconut cream donut from a vegan shop, not expecting much as coconut isn’t my favourite and honestly not even a big fan of donuts, but let me tell you - this was by far the best donut, or even dessert, I’ve ever had. Found out it was gluten free after eating it. For gluten free & vegan, I don’t understand how they can make products this good. It’s incredible, highly recommended. After the donut, I’ve tried several other products and have their dairy-free pumpkin pie in my fridge right now Best pie I’ve ever had. Going to eat a piece now! Healthy quality ingredients, in all their products, definitely try if you haven’t already!
Schoolhouse makes the most delicious gluten free foods! I love the convenience of ordering online and having it delivered to my door, knowing that I can safely eat each product because it’s made in a dedicated GF facility. I especially love their cranberry stuffing that they sell only a few times per year. Their customer service is also excellent. Jen was very quick to clear up an error that the courier company made which was no fault of Schoolhouse! and even called me to make sure that it had been resolved plus added a few extra goodies to my next order to further apologize even though it wasn’t their error to begin with!.
I just moved back to NS and have recently figured out that I have a pretty intense gluten intolerance. I was so delighted when I found SchoolHouse gluten free foods!! I have been communicating with them on instagram and they always get back to be within a couple of hours and answer any questions I have regarding orders or ingredients. I LOVE their donuts and I am so excited to have them delivered straight to my door!!
Their food is generally good but their customer service is not which is a shame. I have had issues with my orders twice now and both times they ignored my concerns completely. One time there were two long hairs baked into my muffin and I sent them a message on facebook with a photo to inform them and they just read it and ignored me. They need to work on customer service if they want to keep customers.
I love all of the products, especially the muffins, best buns and the quiche! We order consistently every 1-2 weeks. For special treats the cakes, squares and brownies are delicious and nothing tastes gluten free :
The treats from this place are absolutely amazing! While I am not gluten-free, I am so happy to be able to bring treats to family members who are gluten-sensitive that taste just as delicious as other treats. I seek the brownies out wide and far. They are what dreams are made of. I had the pleasure of meeting some of the team when they had their market location and the service was top-notch. I’d highly recommend this company!
