My work takes me through most of small town Iowa. I make a point of only eating at small local restaraunts while travelling. I can say that Schimm's is one of the best 3 I've been too. Go for the breakfast pile, stay for the conversation and child friendly atmosphere.

Wonderful service, quick cook, good prices.  Had Dave's burger (I think ). Amazing. Had breaded mushrooms which were good but the ranch they use made them spectacular! Definitely going again.

I've never had a bad experience at Schimms. The food is always great and the service is excellent. It has that small business, "home cooked" feel to it. I love these types of places!!!
