Scallions Bistro

Great fries and very good crispy chicken burger, highly recommend

I enjoyed the simple yet delicious food and the cozy vibe at Scallions Bistro. I had Special Benedict and Cream of Chowder for breakfast at the restaurant. They reminded me of the homemade yummy food prepared by Mom with loving care. I also had Club House to go for lunch, and it was still crispy when I ate it.

The simplest recipes for me, the meals that always remind me of home, are the best ones. My Scallions Bistro classics are their barbecue wonton noodle soup, bullseye burger usually ordered with onion rings, Korean style poutine and their breakfast special. Sam and Christina are very friendly and even do deliveries! :-D

I went downstairs craving for a delicious breakfast. After browsing through their menu I went ahead and ordered a sausage breakfast wrap. They should put quotations around the sausage as I only got MAYBE half a sausage in the entire wrap. Might as well call it a greasy potato wrap because that was what I had got. I generally try to avoid going downstairs but as the options nearby are limited we don't have much of a choice especially with this snow. Their clam chowder has me coming back on Thursday. The only thing that's actually worth getting... I wouldn't mind if that was all they had served. They chicken panini is also decent when they don't skim out on the chicken. If you enjoy the taste of cardboard I also highly recommend their fries. Poor quality. Not a fan!

Always thought the place was mediocre and deserves only a 3 star. Fries are inconsistent - sometimes it's good, but most of the time they're overdone. What made me lower their rating to a 1 star was an incident I had when my friend ordered their chicken strips and fries. The chicken came out undercooked was still pink on the inside. I don't know what made them think the chicken was done, cause when we saw the chicken prior to him taking a bite, we all questioned it. The colour of the exterior does not look close to being done it was still a white-like colour. A so called experience restaurant operator should know this immediately. So my friend went to tell them the chicken was not cooked after taking a bite. What they did made my jaw drop. They threw the chicken all back into the fryer even the piece that he bit into!. Talk about sanitary standards...

Chicken wrap was all lettuce and when I was paying with debit, the cashier decided to give himself a 20% tip and then tap my card. He thought I didn't notice. Won't be back.

Extremely friendly and welcoming staff, not the best menu selection but always seem to have fresh coffee and also very fast turnaround from when you order food if your in a rush for something hot. They never ask for a tip but probably deserve one compared to a lot of other places that do.

I eat there most lunch times during the week. Sam, the cashier, is fantastic. So friendly and will listen to your order proper. He remembers everyone by name!!!

We order from Sam for our office and Sam is the best! He is always friendly and always brings us what we need to enjoy our meals... all the condiments and forks and plates etc... we love Sam and Scallions
