They can get pretty busy, the wait was a bit long but the food was good. We ordered shrimp, walleye, and perch sandwich. The Walleye was great, I definitely should have ordered more.
If you think you like fish, go here. If you don't like fish you must go here. You'll love the fish at Scalawags. 2 piece whitefish basket is my favorite. Everything about this basket meal equals delicious. And when I visit Mackinaw city I make sure I visit Scalawags thee too.
My husband and I are visiting and wanted to try some great lake fish! Scalawags did not disappoint. The whitefish meal both traditional and grilled was excellent!
Glad we found this place. Fish was really good. Small place with lots of character. Found many fishing pieces if memorabilia from our past. Brought back great memories.
Definitely the best fried fish I've had north of the Mason Dixon. Fresh fish from the lake. Super inexpensive for the quality you get. The fries are incredible too! Highly recommend the walleye and the white fish chowder.
I enjoyed this restaurant so much that in my one week in the area I ate here twice. Whitefish chowder and asiago asparagus soups were excellent. Walleye and perch were cooked perfectly. The young chef definitely knows how to do it right. Prices are a little high, but the quality is there. Enjoy!
Great customer service. The food came out fast and every bite was delicious. I had the whitefish and perch basket and my boyfriend had the whitefish sandwich with chowder. We hope to be back again soon! Thanks for a great dinner
