Excellent experience. Enjoyed Jesus Takes The Wheel menu with a group of friends. The ambiance was a soft cozy environment with a gentle buzz of activity. The service was good and kudos to the servers for remembering the story behind each dish. Menu itself was interesting. Certain dishes stood out on top. There was quite a bit of contrast between the dishes in each pairing — usually a mellow or refreshing dish against a strong rich dish. My favourite was the beef cheeks that were braised for 5 hours. My only critic would be that I really didn’t need the meat to be delivered from North Carolina — I understand the commitment to the theme of the marriage between American and Italian food inspiration but local ingredients and a smaller footprint is good too. All in all, it was a nice treat to come here. I recommend the experience.
Great good selection even if it a small menu. Did not opt for the 5 course due to dietary restrictions, but would recommend for the value. All the dishes delivered full flavor and freshness and did not disappoint. The star dish would be the toast with truffles ricotta and peas! One note when going here is that they hold you to your time allotted for your reservation as we were essentially asked to leave one minute pass the allotted time even though I still had a good half a glass of wine left. This wasn’t the best way to end the night when the meal itself was delicious.
The Italian and American BBQ combo sparked lots of surprises among the dishes. Highly recommend the taster menu for the first timers. Our favorite course was the smoked sturgeon. We appreciate that flavors were not overpowering yet still have playfulness and depth. The atmosphere was great, it was loud but good for bringing your friends or family.
We had such a delicious evening at Say Mercy! The creative and elevated take on comforting dishes were beautiful and absolutely delicious! Every morsel of every dish were incredibly flavourful and paired really well with the bottle of Barbera. Space was beautiful and the staff were very friendly and attentive. We would definitely recommend and make plans to go back!
Made a reservation here on a Friday night a few weeks ago after seeing it on the Michelin guide reso was made a couple weeks in advance. My party of four all had the “Jesus Take The Wheel” tasting menu and a bottle of wine. The atmosphere was fantastic, seemed pretty casual with a night dinner ambience. Couldn’t recommend the tasting menu enough. Exciting and adventurous courses that came at a great pace for my friends and I to chat and enjoy ourselves, while not feeling like we were waiting too long for anything. The courses were shared family style, so everyone tried the same thing. Service was good as well, our server was friendly and sweet. Overall would recommend this place a lot, especially with a group of friends and it really feels like more of an experience than your average meal. Cost was definitely worth the amount and variation of food we got as well.
Very cozy ambiance. We went with a couple of friends and ordered everything on the menu! I have to say everything is delicious here. They also have a good list of wine to pair with. Will definitely come back again.
Came here for dine out but what was advertised on the dine out website wasn’t what they were serving. The severs were nice however the food was definitely underwhelming. We did the god wheel food course thingy because they weren’t serving what was advertised on dine out. Over priced and lacking in quality. The price definitely did not reflect the quality of food. Last week I had dine out at cactus. 3 courses done well and cost less. I’m not sure what everyone is raving about. The worse thing served was probably the cat fish. It was fishy. Super fishy. It looked deep fried. How can deep fried food be fishy? Also the cannelloni, it was something banana flavoured but the filling was so grainy we all thought it was hummus.
We did the testing menu and most dishes were tasty and fun to eat! The flavour combinations for tuna crudo and short ribs were spot on and creative. Each bite came with a little surprise and harmony. The sturgeon was okay but the risotto was too mushy for my liking. The only let down was the cheesecake, too dry and crumbly and not so much of cheese taste.
Moderately lit restaurant; good atmosphere for date; lively but not so loud you can’t hear your guest; service from sommelier to serve staff fantastic; food came quickly, well portioned, well seasoned. Drinks tasty. Would recommend!
WOW this place is amazing! A really refreshing mix of Italian and American cuisines. We had the “Jesus Take the Wheel” option which is their tasting menu and all of the dishes were good. We had the Amberjack Crudo, Caesar Salad with tonnes of cheese, BBQ Bolo, Glazed Pork Hock and Bread Pudding Cannoli. All of these were excellent, nothing was only average or disappointing which is really rare. In the end we were really stuffed as the Glazed Pork Hock was huge and we had to take some home. Definitely had to say mercy after all that. Ambiance and service was also amazing and the price $60 per person was very reasonable for the amount of food. Highly recommend this place and will return.
