Great place to shop until you find a problem with the quality of their foods they sell. My wife found a piece of plastic in her bagel made by Western Family bakeries. We brought it to their attention and gave them the evidence. Luckily she found it and removed it from her mouth. If it was eaten by a toddler, it could have been a choking hazard. We were surprised at how this was handled. We were not even offered a replacement nor a refund. The case is with head office now. Time will only tell what they will do. So far, nothing.
This location is very nice. Spacious and neat shelves. Shelves are always stocked. Staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Also no shortage of staff! Good variety in grocers. Lots of parking. Awesome deli and hot food section.nThis location is perfect for those living in the river district as it is a bit out of the way unless going down marine. I would recommend this Save-on.
My initial review of Save On Foods, which I rated 5 stars, was based on a great first impression. Save On is a well-stocked, organized supermarket, and its convenient location means I’ll likely return. However, my recent experience with the café was very disappointing.nnAround 10 am, I waited several minutes without any employee greeting me or offering assistance. Instead, they ignored me, turning their backs to the counter and disappearing. Frustrated, I considered taking a photo to discuss the issue with the manager but ultimately decided against it.nnShortly after, I decided to skip buying anything at the café and continued shopping. Surprisingly, much less time than I had spent waiting at the café, a manager approached me to inform me that taking photos inside the store is prohibited for privacy reasons. It was ironic that an employee, who was negligent in serving customers, was quick to protect her privacy.nnThe manager was extremely polite and understanding, and I hope he reads this review. It is essential that the staff be trained to prioritize customer service, ensuring customers feel welcomed and valued, not frustrated as I did.nnAs mentioned earlier, I will continue to shop at Save On Foods in River District due to its convenience and quality. However, I will look elsewhere if I need anything from the café.
Just to make things clear!nMy review is based on my second visit to this store, I have been there four times, and still have the same opinion!!nI understand is not for everyone. Every head is a world!nnShiny floors!!!!nI am so happy about this Save-on Foods, and not only because is a few blocks from where I live, but because they have a huge selections of everything, specially organics ingredientes. I Usually buy my veggies at Whole Foods or Spuds which I am very disappointed that’s another story.nHere at this Save-On all the fruits and Vegetables look so fresh, first quality!! I really hope they keep it that way and not only because is a new store.nAll the employees that work there are very polite, with a smile on their face or asking if you are looking for something.nAlso I Have to say, fresh and yummy selection of fish, seafood and meat uff I really wanted to buy each of everything on the counter.nI just really hope they will have fresh squeezed Orange Juice. That’s the only thing that I missed.nnThank you Save-On Foods for a great experience
I would never think the service is that bad at this location. Kunal-supervisor provided the worst service with arguments. We left with disappointment at Save on Foods. Since now on not me nor my family will visit Save on foods again. There are better groceries at other locations with much better prices.
