City of Saskatoon - Your Local Government I don’t see one sign that tells me I have to park my couple thousand dollar scooter inside well I pay my bill. Rent a cop forced me to park it by the bus mall with a $20 lock. With the crime I the city it would be gone in five minutes. Not one sign. I guess if it gets stolen I know who I’m blaming.
"Saskatoon shines" no Saskatoon smells. It smells of sewer gas. Not only does this depressing and miserable industrial city smell but the roads are what catapult it into the 1 star review category. The roads which are already in poor condition, with sporadic lighting and terrible planning are not even plowed properly during heavy snow. No attempt to prevent drifting snow across the highways around the city and no attempt to remove snow off the roads around the hotels. Visiting this city for work is just a thoroughly depressing event. The best thing about Saskatoon is that it makes you appreciate where you come from and that eventually you can leave
The present mayor and councilors are so busy fulfilling their own agendas they have no time or desire to listen to any input from the constituents that elected them. They are supposed to represent the needs of their areas and do so using fiscal responsibility. Spending money on a downtown arena during a recession with many future costs that will be passed on to the citizens. Spending tax dollars on redoing a circle drive and 11th street west road that will make traffic jams and emergency vehicle access worse. Spending tax payer money on a solar farm project that creates more toxic contamination and does more harm than good. Not one of these council driven directives are fiscally or even morally responsible. The latest unanimous vote by this group of elites is to allow a shelter in the Fairhaven area. There will be drug addicted persons, there will be persons with mental health issues, there will be homeless. Likely, alot of the pereons that will be at this building, will have all 3 of the issues. Mark Arcand says thats to bad for the people who live in Fairhaven. So how come Marcand and the city didn't search out a downtown location closer to the government offices. Well, it is likely due to the fact Marcand and the city council can't have these persons making the downtown area unappealing. Since Marcand sits on the Downtown District Advisory Group. Marcand and city council are knowingly removing these drug users, mental health and homeless people they claim to care about because having them downtown is not good for business. Placing them into a community area with kids and schools in these neighborhoods creates a very high risk situation. Marcand and council likely see this as just the price of doing business, to ensure their downtown area is kept free of these persons. This entire group of councilors and mayor need to be voted out next election. Marcand and this city council also need to be held fully accountable WHEN a serious incident occurs with the inevitable interaction from these persons to the citizens around the area.
Needs to pave streets faster as I had to replace my tires due to the potholes on Ruth Street East. I understand that sidewalks needed to be done, but that's not a high priority
does the Saskatoon city card for parking still work
Poorly managed, ticketing system, went to get my coins for two straight minutes and came back to my car. A guy jump out from his car to give me a ticket.
Charged us for a parking ticket when we had proof that we paid for time to park, very disrespectful staff security guard especially.
Other than parking being a pain being the machine wouldn't accept my card like not everyone has credit cards! Staff was nice and pleasant to deal with and helpful. Fortunately there wasn't much of a line or a wait. Honestly I can say from my one experience today they seem like the type to be helpful and polite like I got to expirenc, just get a better parking program in order specially for those who don't have a credit card and my rating would be higher for sure.
I parked and was getting my coins to pay for parking when i got a 30 dollar ticket. The guy did not whant to hear anything. I calld to despute it and they said thats what you get
This town hasnt heard of timing green lights to enhance the flow of traffic. Seems like they do the opposite, I guess the more interuptions in flow the more chance for ticket revenue.
