Loved it!!! Heard so much about this restaurant, never tried Georgian food before, and to my surprise EVERYTHING we ordered was 10/10. The waitress gave very good recommendations and explained how to eat /try their food properly. The restaurant itself was soooo cozy, and pretty. Enjoyed every minute.
Georgian food is great, and Sarko does it perfectly! Make sure to try the Georgian mushroom with cheese a s the lamb skewer, they’re just delicious! Make sure you go dine-in vs a takeout or delivery, it won’t taste the same and you’ll miss out on alot of flavours and freshness. Service is okay, and probably the weakest point at this place, otherwise a great spot!
This is a good Georgian restaurant. I recommend trying their main dish with lamb and potatoes. We had a full dinner with Saperavi wine. I ordered Harcho, and the soup was hearty, but too much oil was added. Also, there were no walnuts in the dish which are usually added. We liked Badrijani; eggplant rolls with garlic. The main dish with lamb and potatoes also had too much oil. The lamb was tasty and cooked well, but I wish they had served Georgian sauces with their dishes. It should be mentioned that their bread was fantastic! Overall, good experience in a cozy restaurant.
Authentic Georgian food at very reasonable prices. For the two of us, we ordered Badrijani eggplant appetiser, Gebshalia cheese appetiser, staffed peppers, magrelian harcho, loaf of freshly baked lavash bread, and a bottle of Georgian red wine. We shared everything, and I really liked the appetizers and staffed peppers. The harcho was just ok, too much meat and no veggies. Service was fast, even though the restaurant was full on Sat night. The final bill with the tip was under $140, so this place is a nice find.
Very cute little Georgian spot! The food was very fresh and delicious. Service was a tiny bit slow but worth the wait. The interior is very nicely decorated and cozy.Recommended dishesLavash, Eggplant with Garlic
My review is based on 2 items that I ate at Sarko - Megrelian Kharcho and Khchapuri Megruli. Both were excellent and mouth-watering. Especially, Megrelian Kharcho was to die for. Flavourful and tasty. Khchapuri Megruli was equally tasty and waaaaay better than any pizza. I was stuffed after this meal and even took leftovers home for later. While I'm no expert in Georgian food, Sarko knocks it out of the park with their Georgian food. Their dishes are tasty and flavourful. Certainly just as good if not better than the Georgian food I had in Moscow and St Petersburg at Georgian restaurants a couple of years ago. The people running this restaurant deserve a solid "5-star" rating. Молодцы! Всё было ОЧЕНЬ вкусно!
After reviewing the restaurants for years and across many countries, I rarely give 2 star reviews, but it is the case here; the overall good rating of Sarko is puzzling for me. The dining room itself is fine, nicely decorated and neat, the service is good and the prices are very reasonable. The issue is the food, we ordered 2 appetizers and 2 different chicken entrees. Out of these 4 items, only the traditional corn bread was fine. The fried turnover cheburek was cold inside and bland, the walnut curry chicken was mediocre at best and another chicken entree tasted like a reheated supermarket rosted chicken placed in a bowl of milky garlic sauce. Perhaps we didn't know what we're supposed to order at this restaurant, but when 3 out of 4 items we picked turn out subpar, I don't feel like giving the owners the benefit of the doubt.
Absolutely delicious food here at Sarko! All of the cold appetizers were amazing, in particular the eggplant and spinach ones. The khchapuri is a must try adjaruli one and megruli! Khinkali Georgian dumplings were so juicy. For the main, the rack of lamb as well as skewers were to die for! Plentiful servings and great service. Highly recommend.
Saw this place in last winter and it's been on our to-go list ever since. I've never had Georgian food, and from their menu they look very tempting. We ordered one cold and three hot appetizers, plus one entree. Badrijani eggplant roll: it was yummy. It tasted like mince wrapped by eggplant, although on the menu it says it's walnut paste inside. If you like eggplant you should try this. Crepes and Cheburek were good too. Both contained grounded beef. Megrelian Kharsho: at a first look I thought it was beef curry, but the taste was very different; I could taste beans and nuts from the sauce. The flavor was rather special. The beef was very tender. We later on asked to add a Georgian bread to go with the entree. Oh my gosh you have to try their traditional bread, it was fresh made and so good! Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I love handmade bread and their bread was my type. This was a great Georgian food tasting experience! The waitress was very nice. Worth to revisit.
Great little gem in Vaughn. The food was delicious and well made. The bathroom was spotless. Get the beef and tripe stew and their fresh made bread. The eggplant stew was also delicious. I’ll be going back to try other dishes.
