Small Japanese goods market, but they have a lots of stuff! They have hard to find ingredients and condiments and a lot of really good handmade items like fresh udon and onigiri. Their pandemic protocol has been very thorough, too, which is appreciated.
Great selection of all things Japanese culinary, including cookware, stoneware and knives. Plus these tasty little crisp Nori wrapped snacks that are unbeatable.
What a lovely in place, a little true slice of Japan in Toronto. Love supporting small business, the selection of goods is excellent. Your eyes always catch on something new everytime. And the staff are cheerful and helpful!

Lovely small Japanese grocery with a good selection. They don't have many obscure items, and not a ton of ingredients for cooking from scratch, but they do have lots of good snacks, instant noodles, tea, and even some pretty gifts. Staff are very friendly and professional.
My friend who lived for 5 years in Tokyo says there are a lot of japanese autentic goods, but like about 5 times more expensive. I liked the store.
Sanko has been a Queent West Staple for decades. This everything Japanes store is a must visit and my go to place for Red Bean Icecream! You can find all of your Japanese needs from food, to sweets to that hard to find item you have been looking for. Visit Sanko and support a local gnerational long standing Queen West store!
