Came at 1pm - 2 other clients present. I ordered 2 sandwiches and emphasized that I wanted ‘spicy’… and when I was handed the sandwiches a few minutes later I asked the lady again if they were spicy and was assured they were…. once home : not one pepper on either of the sandwiches!! I saw that this has been mentioned in another review also. Otherwise the sandwiches were good but with no spice they were bland. We might not be Asian but we like spicy too! I’ll give it another try in a few weeks….
Came in 10 min before the closing, there was a very strong chemical smell in the restaurant, like glue for floor tiles. I asked if they were still serving, and was answered by an annoyed yes, and the rest of the interaction was very unpleasant. It wouldn't have been too much of a problem if the sandwich had been good, but it was a very average Banh Mi, and it tasted a bit of that chemical I smelled in the restaurant, so I didn't finish it.
Wow, tried their sautéed beef banh mi and was impressed as it truly hit the spot! The warm and toast bread vessel was crispy on the outside with a slight brioche finish, while soft on the inside it makes space for the flavourful and juicy marinated beef, pickled carrots and turnips, mayo, some secret sauce and tiny slices of birds eye hot peppers! Also brought home some Banh Gio, which literally translates to “pork leg cake” but don’t let the unappetizing name fool you, it is a tasty pyramid-shaped rice dumpling, wrapped in banana leaf, filled with ground pork, onions, minced woodear mushrooms.
Prices went up, portions stay the same… it’s a catering service not a restaurant. Prices shouldn’t be that high. It was my favourite place, for the same price you can eat at a nice restaurant with service.
Their banhmi is very good, the owner is so nice too but the employee's attitude was so rude. Kindly consider
Good service. I took a chicken banh mi. It was excellent. Fresh bread, marinated chicken with a delicious sauce and condiments. Will def go back
Super good job. It's cheap and good. The banh mi is made in front of you. Tasted super good, totally worth it. I also ordered the beef noodle, also super good. Will go back for more banh mi's.
THE BEST Bánh Mì in Montreal and every other dish on their menu! Small Vietnamese family who makes homemade food with the freshest ingredients and their Bánh Mì bread ... WoW! I highly recommend it. We have been traveling from the Plateau Mont-Royal to the Côte-des-Neiges neighborhood, on weekends for years, to eat their Bánh Mì and buy their specialties! The most authentic place in town! Great prices.
