I had such a wonderful stay, and I want to give a special shout-out to Mihir at the front desk. From the moment I arrived, Mihir made me feel genuinely welcomed. I was checked in by a lovely agent - Mihir. He not only upgraded my room but also gave me a good view. I am travelling with my friends, and this man knows how to sell! We loved the whole experience.nnThe rooms are clean and spacious. There are 2 restaurants in house and Moxies is a must visit for dinner. After driving all day, relaxing in the hot tub was cherry on cake
Great location, exceptional staff and service. Beautiful rooms, clean pool and hot tub. Mr. Shiv at the front desk went out of the way to accommodate my stay per my flight changes. I couldn't have expected a better stay at Vancouver, thank you!
The room was in the old side partly renovated, our floor by the windows had a huge wet spot on the floor. We did contact the front desk and let them know, they offered to move us but we were only staying one night and weren't concerned about the wet spot and just wanted to let them know so it could fixed after we left. There was also the construction going on around the block and hotel and no signs for entrance to the hotel. Over all it was a ok stay.
My friend and I frequent Vancouver a lot for concerts, Broadway, etc. and Sandman is usually our go to for when we stay there, but I have to say this stay was very disappointing. We don’t typically have an issue with early check-in. We arrived at 1:30. We were told the rooms weren’t ready yet and to come back at 2:30 which we were fine with. We went for quick lunch to Moxies. We returned back at 2:30. There was still no room available.nnI find it very hard to believe that in a ginormous hotel like that that the housekeeping staff wouldn’t have worked on any double queen rooms yet I don’t know how they do it. I can’t comment on that, but I know that it was really disappointing how long we had to wait. We had a function to go to at 4:45 and we had to be there at 4:15 and we did not get into our room until almost 4 o’clock, which left us with enough time to basically go into the room drop our stuff off change quickly and grab an Uber to where we were going. We were rushed and we weren’t happy about it. With that being said, The young lady that helped us I feel it as much as she could, but it still didn’t make up for the whole situation.nthere were a couple of things that really annoyed me about this stay, I didn’t notice the status of the room when we got back because we were so exhausted. We literally just went to bed but then we woke up the next day and I noticed the shower is covered in hair and it’s not our hair cause we hadn’t even used the shower yet which I was disgusting. another thing that really bothered us was the extreme smell of marijuana that was coming from our floor. I thought that the Sandman was smoke free. The housekeepers were on the floor and there’s no way that they did not notice the smell, we even made a comment as we were walking by one of the housekeepers and she ignored us.nWe have always been a supporter of the Sandman more so because of location and ease of getting there and back, but I have to say this is the first time my friend and I have discussed other options to stay. I really wish we had taken pictures of the shower. I was going to and then totally forgot. I also take blame in the fact that I never said anything upon checkout the next day I really wish I had, but I didn’t want it to ruin the rest of my day because I don’t like complaining. The more I thought about it, the more I realized that something needed to be said, even though it was through this avenue, they need to be aware.
