Overall a nice hotel; and very friendly staff. I enjoyed my stay.nThere were alot of inconvenience, like the elevator to parkade not working which made it difficult to use a stroller etcthey did refund this. The escalator not working to go up, and unannounced fire alarm testing at 9:40pm.nThe rooms were nice except for the extremely loud heater/air-conI guess this covers up the trains.nI enjoyed the hot tub/pool, the gym is nice.
We had an amazing stay at Sandman Downtown Calgary. From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, special mention to Alex. The check-in process was quick and seamless. The room was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated, with all the amenities we could need. The bed was super comfortable, and we had a great night's sleep.nnThe hotel’s location was perfect—close to major attractions, yet quiet and peaceful. We also enjoyed the breakfast each morning, which had a great variety of fresh and delicious options.
My husband and I stayed mid Feb and were blown away. We requested an accessible room as he is in a wheelchair. We booked the king/queen bed room for 2 nights. We expected a typical crowded accessible room. When we got to the room it was astonishing. Not only was the room 95% accessible it was a suite! The layout was perfect, there was no bumping into furniture, no narrow hallways to navigate. Light switches were easily reached, the toilet was in its own space and large enough he could close the door. The best part was the shower room. A full true accessible shower room. For the first time in many many years my husband was able to independently shower.nWe have been big fans of Sandman across the country because they have consistently been the most accessible. This Sandman surpasses every single experience we have ever had. We will be back
The staff at the hotel was pleasant and friendly, the room I stayed in was comfortable, clean, and had all of the amenities I needed, and the location was perfect for getting around the city. However, the heating unit in the room was extremely loud. I know I can’t do anything about the sound of an electric unit so I just accepted it and went to sleep. Would stay there again.
