Stunning park! Stayed over the May long weekend, and it was a great trip. We were in Outlet River Campground B, highly recommend, very private camp sites. Bathrooms and showers were also very clean. Lots of nature and trails to explore! Beach is a 10/10 too!
We go camping every year, and Sandbanks is one of our favourites. We went to Cedars campground and it does not have electricity, which is fine for us. Free water supply is nearby, and shower+washroom facility and within a 1-minute walk and clean. The beach is beautiful and long. There are also hiking trails that are not difficult. There is a convenience store and restaurant on site. Prices are fair. You will not be disappointed.
Sandbanks has always been one of my favourite beaches to go to! It's gotten more and more popular over the years so it gets quite busy. I recommend buying a reservation online because in the summer months the park will close early because it's at max capacity. Great beach and water! The hiking trails are great too!
Beautiful sand dunes. Very unique place. Great for spending time with the family. Can be a challenge if taking a stroller. There are nice trails to follow all over the park. Mostly covered in sand. Be prepared to be covered in sand. Parking can be a challenge so getting there early is the best.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
This is a really great spot for a beach vacation in Ontario. They have multiple camp grounds surrounding the dunes. My personal favourite is Cedars. Check the pictures out on the website because some of the sites are great and others are small and close to the road. The campgrounds have full showers and washrooms that were well maintained and clean. There is a lot of poison ivy in the area so that’s something to keep in mind when booking here but it’s easy to avoid.
We did a 450km day trip to visit the park, after watching a TV documentary about it. The park facilities were not open yet but we could walk the dunes. We practically had the dunes to ourselves and spend a good 3 hours walking around and had some lunch on one of the higher dunes with some good views. It was very windy so didn't see much animal life. Overall feeling I think the TV show was more impressive but we still enjoyed the silince between the dunes.
What a gem! Private campsites with lots of trees surrounding ours, the only bugs we encountered were fireflies !, good, dry wood for campfires, gorgeous beaches Dunes is so unique; Outlet is so convenient, powder-like sand, beautiful sunsets, great walking and biking trails, excellent breakfast at the store/grill carried it across the street and ate it overlooking the beautiful beach. Love it here!
Great place to spend an entire day or camping for 1-2 days. Cool beaches, hike and bike paths are good. Lovely Sand dunes, water is not very cold and not salty also.
Wow wow wow!!!! I couldn’t imagine that we have such places in Quebec - Ontario! The lake is so big that you will have an impression that it’s an ocean as it even has waves!!!!!! The beach is huge and very well maintained also the lake was very warm and not the depth is perfect for the kids. There is a grill cafe with pretty diverse delicious menu as well as the Ice cream. We stayed one night on a campsite Outlet River and was amazed by the beauty of the place. There is only one thing the toilet was very dirty. All in all must visit!!!!
It is a GORGEOUS camping site. We stayed in the River Campground B. It is such a beautiful campsite but you are very close to your neighbour. Our first night was okay but our second night students moved in started playing their music at 9pm and was EXTREMELY loud until 5am the next morning. I was disappointed that the camp wardens didn't came to make them quiet - there is no way they could not hear them - the whole camp site heard them. Next time we will camp here during the week rather. We camped here last weekend of May 2022 - it was still freezing.
