Great home-cooked food at great prices in a cute cafe. This is their new location on Canal Street in Ellenville. Forget the overpriced fake food from McDonald's and visit Sammy Brown's Walk-Away Cafe for a delicious and nutritious meal. You can dine on premesis and they have cute local crafts for sale.
I felt like I was eating at a 5 star restaurant. I have never tasted calamari so amazingly seasoned and cooked. It was honestly as smooth as butter. I ordered the chicken Marsala and honestly was blown away. The prices are also extremely reasonable I would have paid double. I will absolutely be coming back here as soon as possible.
A quaint restaurant with a friendly owner and nice staff. There is an outdoor seating area in the back during warmer months. Their food is fresh, with some of the freshest salad greens I've been able to find at a restaurant in the area. Portion sizes are generous, and prices are very reasonable. Everything is made to order, so don't come in a rush and just enjoy yourself. We're looking forward to returning on a regular basis.
Service could be improved on. The young late teens/early twenties wait staff were helpful, they just need to improve on communication when food is taking a bit to come out and on cleaning up the table. The more experienced wait staff were excellent! Food was very good, they just need to work on their rice recipe as it was very bland.
My family and I went to Sammy Brown's on our final night visiting for the holidays. The atmosphere was wonderful, the service friendly and the food was amazing. They have something for everyone; from the burger and fries lover to steak and seafood. Everything was fresh and presented so nicely. My family and I will definitely be returning on our next trip to NY.
The FOOD was soooooo amazing. We ordered the fish sandwich and grilled chicken sandwich and though the fillet fish was a frozen patty it was delish. The grilled chicken was awesome. The chicken had a really nice char flavor that made it taste good. The sauces were also really good. The service was really excellent. I would go here again after my hiking trip. It may become tradition. Thank you!
Finally had a chance to sit in and enjoy a dinner. This is one of the best restaurants in the area. Ordered a very fresh salad. Even the dressing tasted homemade. Everything tasted fresh and prices very reasonable. Servers were super friendly. Looking forward to going back again soon.
I don't even know what to say here. This place impressed me each passing minute I was there. A beautiful location, an immaculate interior with a very comfortable feel, and hosts that felt like old friends. I almost asked to rent a room. This all before I had a bite to eat. Sammy had my jaw on the floor with each plate. Crowning achievement was the mushrooms. I typically can't even begin to stomach them. I had to stop myself from stealing them from other tables. This place moved mountains for me. Make. Sure. You stop.
