Samba Brazil Eatery specializes in making Brazilian Pastel which is a well known street pastry often sold in fast food stores. Where did it originated? It's hard to say. To me it's a large sized crispy fried spring roll stuffed with a filling of your choice either savoury or sweet. You can order ahead and take out or dine in inside or at their outdoor patio. They serve their food in individual bags for convenience, so you can eat it on the go. They accept credit cards. There is a paid Green P parking right at the back or park in one of the neighborhood residential streets, but please observe the parking signage. 1. Carne Pastel - ground beef Opt for ones stuffed with meat and vegetables or with cheese to give it some extra kick. 2. Coxinha de Frango Requeijao - chicken and cheese 3. Cassava Fries - thickly cut The food was delicious and authentic. Don't forget to grab your little packets of condiment, cutlery and tissue paper before you head out of this eatery.
What an authentic brazilian food experience! We had the cassava fries, pastel, and the croquette bolinho de mandioca com carne seca. The cassava dough on the croquette was soft and melts in your mouth. The pastel and the filling was very tasty as well. The owner was super friendly and helpful. He explained the menu to us and recommended things to try since it was our first time there. Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5
Hands down one of the best pastel I’ve ever had. I absolutely recommend. The place has an amazing atmosphere and the food is so tasty. If you haven’t had the Calabresa Acebolada pastel yet you’ve been missing out!
If you haven’t tried the Pastel at Samba yet, I would definitely recommend you to. It’s delicious! Simply amazing! Every other week I drive an hour just to get one. The Coxinha is also divine. Pictures by @melhorfoods
The best food I've ever had!! I tried the frango e requeijão pastel, the bolinho de carne com mandioca, the coxinha de frango, the carne loca sandwich, both cakes they offer, the pudim and the brigadeiro!!! It was all so fresh, good, and best of all: it was al HALAL!!! AMAZING! Thank you for the great food! And a special compliment to the owner's humbleness and kindness! Vegetarian options: All the deserts and a lot of pastels were vegetarian. Parking: Great parking spot, next to the store Wheelchair accessibility: They had on the entrances but not on the restroom Dietary restrictions: I can only have halal meat and they offer that
Tasty food with good value. The guava paste and cheese pastel was very good if you are looking for something sweet. The service was speedy and friendly
This eatery has a distinct appeal to it from the outside and has been on my to visit list for sometime. I decided to complete my book at this cafe. Having never tried any Brazilian cuisine, I had no idea what to get for myself. Most of the options available are deep fried salt or sweet pastels. Other than the deep fried batter, the pastel was delicious. I will have to look for their non fried options. The person who runs the cafe is very hospitable. You do notice that with all the regular crowd coming in. They do like visiting the place.
What a tasty Pastel... OMG... LOVED IT!!! You need to try!!! I took them to go and drove 45 min home... git home thinking the dough would have lost the crispness.. but no.. it was delicious still
Omgoodness.. Thank you so much. The memories of being young and living in Brazil and eating pastels all came back to me. The pastel was delicious! I now live in canada and to eat brazilian food again....to die for....
Looking for some Brazilian specialties like Pastel several flavors, Coxinha, Quibe? That’s the place to go. It’s a small eatery but easy to feel welcome. For a Brazilian is like going home without leaving Toronto. A must go place when you’re feeling homesick. There’s a public parking lot nearby. Accessible also through street car 512.
