This was the second time I went into Sal's Famous and ordered myself a calzone. I was just as impressed with it as I was the first time. The size of the calzone is worth the price, as it tastes terrific and fills you right up, with room to share. I consider myself to be a big eater, and I could only finish just over half of it. I highly recommend Sal's Famous Donairs any day.
This place is a hidden gem in my neighborhood. The food was absolutely delicious. Decently priced for the huge portions! Friendly knowledgeable staff. We even received free fries while we waited for our food. I am definitely going back! I recommend the calzones. I had the Greek and my husband tried meat lovers. Worth checking it out if your interested in trying something different and local as it's family own and operated as well!
It was my first time to try food from Sal’s Famous Donair. Ordered the veggie calzone and was astounded by the size! One order is good for 3 meals or 3 people. In addition to the size, it was just delicious. Definitely good value for money. I just wish they have more vegetarian fare.
Their milk shakes are gross, they must buy the cheapest iced milk? Don't want to call it ice cream. Their beef pattie isn't good. The bun and toppings are good quality. They need to make their own patties fresh and get better ice cream. Put the effort in, don't be lazy. I'd rather go to Wendy's or a and w. Which is a shame because a local burger place shouldn't lose to national chains, but they are happy being mediocre.
I am visiting Edmonton for work and Sal's was suggested without any warning or heads up. Got a Donair Calzone. This was without a doubt one the most disgustingly beautiful things I ever put in my mouth. Absolute piece of art. I will never be the same after this. The quality of bread and ingredients is 5 star. Be warned....portions are western Canada big...therefore Toronto massive. I could only fit half in one sitting. Make this a mandatory stop if you are in town. Thanks Sal.
Already been there 4 times!! Super delicious and very friendly staff. Rochana & Sharma really did their best and accommodated my needs without even asking them!! Halal options
I had such a lovely experience today at Sal's with my 3 year old son. The woman working there was very warm and welcoming. She served us fries while we waited for our pizza. She was very welcoming to all the skip drivers that also walked in. The food was beautiful presented and delicious of course. This restaurant always feels like home when I visit Kid-friendliness: Extremely kid freindly, warm and welcoming staff Dietary restrictions: Halal options available
Was the first time here, heard great stuff about the food. I was very disappointed I ordered for my kids a Greek salad and poutine. The Greek salad had white onions in it instead of purple ones tasted totally off, poutine was so soggy and barely had any cheese on it. The place looks clean and all but maybe I need to try a donair if it could compare to Swiss donair the best in the city!
Sal’s is our “I don’t know what I want for dinner” always go to place. So many amazing options and a huge portion for a great price. My girlfriend and I love this place.
I always tip with cash, so I decline on the machine. I was the only customer at a non busy time of day, yet they didn't start my order for 10 minutes. They took from a big pile of pre cut donair meat. $14 donair, the lettuce and tomatoes were not fresh I've never run faster to the washroom after eating something except for Arby's maybe.
