Before I found this place it felt as if the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. This place is a beacon of light and it's the greatest pub in Canada. Coldest beers in the Kootneys, served by the greatest people. You won't find a better pint anywhere else.Food: 5/5
I get that there are staff shortages, and maybe their chef quite… or something…but this place, on the evening I was there, was in shambles. Many of the menu items were not available and what was available mostly came out either burnt, cold or dangerous. My Caesar salad, which I could only stomach 2 bites the 2nd was in disbelief might have actually poisoned me. Why did I give 2 stars and not 1? The server, who was getting complaints from every table, was marvellous throughout. I don’t know how she did it.
Worst eating our experience of my life. Not a waitress in site, super dirty place and I would be suprised if the children cooking in the kitchen and even old enough to take their foodsafe course Pretty hard to screw up a deep fried chicken burger. Hey salmo hotel bar and grill chicken FLOATS WHEN ITS COOKED! I wouldnt be suprised if this place closes down do to health regulations
aside from gorgeous building, this place was incredibly awful. waited about 15/20mins for service only to have to walk up to counter to order drinks. then my chicken burger was absolutely RAW....like still pink raw, I've had salmonella before.....its dangerous and this was no joke. then the waitress tried to still charge for the drinks, after waiting for those before my raw food arrived. Really disappointing and scary that I could have gotten salmonella again.
My wife and I always eat at this establishment when we don't want to travel too far, the burgers are excellent and the service is reliable...Food: 5/5
The service was quick and friendly. Beer was cold and the food was pub correct - exactly what I was looking for after 7 hours on the bike. Seems very popular with locals. It was a relaxing comfortable afternoon.
Had lunch here and it was great. Service was fantastic and the food was very tasty and very reasonably priced. The building is a treasure. A very authentic and positive experience. Highly recommended. Bonus was no Nelson , BC snobbery and exceptionalism.
Literally had the best time here - highly recommend this spot! I have been all around the world but this is one of the best bar/restaurants I’ve ever been to. A beautiful historic building that transports you to the Old West. Great service and food. Ask about the haunted basement tour!Rooms: 5/5
Looks like a an old dive but menu was pretty solid. Had burger and beer. Both were good at lowest price I've paid in awhile
