If you want a delicious, unique, quick meal in Kingston, go to Sally’s! The goat curry roti is quintessential street food in Trinidad and, wow, with this one you really feel the love of the island from the owners here. Everything is homemade. The meat was super tender and soaked up all of the delicious spice from the curry sauce. The doubles were equally delicious, perfectly seasoned leaving you wanting more.
Went into Sally’s after a couple weeks in the hospital. I usually go with the Beef Curry roti because the potatoes are so good. I was looking for something different and the younger gentleman suggested I try the lamb curry plate. It was amazing. Tons of curried lamb, potatoes, and rice and beans. Nice fresh slaw on the side too. Highly recommend Sally’s!
Roti was good but it was more carb than meat, service was also not very good.
Absolutely stunning taste - this is by far the best food I've eaten in Canada since I migrated here. Love it!!!
I love Sally’s. It’s a favourite of my family and we visit every time we are in Kingston. The staff goes above and beyond. Their love of food is reflected in their dishes. This is a small, family run business that takes great care in preparing their food. Keep up the amazing work! I can’t wait to visit again.
Not a lot of flavor. None of my requests were met I asked for extra sauce and spicy instead I got 3 pieces of meat and a load of flavorless potatoes, and the roti was dry. I got the chicken curry roti. The service was good, they were friendly, but when the shop is empty and no other distractions, there should have been no excuses for not getting our orders right. My daughter wanted jerk chicken, she got curry chicken, my wife wanted roti, she got rice. We didn't even know until we left and returned to our hotel. Tried calling to let them know, but they were closed at that point. It has so much potential, I just wished they put the effort in to making sure everyone leaves happy, with correct orders and very minor requests, after all, that's their one job.
Our first time at Sally’s for lunch today. We tried the Jerk Chicken plate, Lamb Roti and Chicken Roti. All were so scrumptious! We loved it! Will definitely be stopping by here any chance we get as we pass through Kingston in the future. Give it a try if you are looking for some island flavour foods in the Kingston area.
We get the eggplant and spinach plate which has no diary or gluten and also the chicken curry plate. Both come with potatoes and rice and coleslaw! It’s sooooo good and spicy! Vegetarian options: Eggplant and spinach plate is vegetarian :
It was the worst experience since I moved to Kingston. Bad communication skills. food is good. You should treat customers like your guests , not confronting them .
Visited 10 min before close, chairs were up but they were very welcoming. Was tempted with goat roti but went with the chef's recommendation and got the lamb. Giant chunks of spicy, tender meat interspersed with some well cooked potatoes, dough is chewy and tasty, such a great package with depth of flavour and a complex spiciness that keeps on going.
