One of the best dining experiences I've ever had. The staff were professional and friendly. The view and atmosphere are unique and absolutely beautiful. We had antipasto for our Appetizers and the everything pizza. Every single bite was delicious. We will definitely be back when we are in the area. I want to add I saw a couple bad reviews before I went stating they took a long time...it's a beautiful sit down restaurant, not fast food. We spent about 2 hours total there and the food was fresh and piping hot. If you're in a hurry grab it to go but if you have time, I highly recommend sitting outside on the patio to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere!
Service was very attentive to our needs. Drink refills were provided without having to ask. The bread, soups, salads and pasta entrees were all house made and prepared as ordered. The soups were very hearty and flavorful. The pasta entrees were large portion sizes and you can taste the quality of the food is spectacular. The mozzarella sticks and fried zucchini appitizers we're plenty big to share. Beautiful view of the Fox River while dining inside. Kid-friendliness: Kid menu available upon request Parking: Plenty of parking available on site Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs required to enter establishment.
We enjoyed a wonderful Valentine's Day dinner at Salerno's. There is plenty of parking there is a lot, we were seated right away but we made reservations, and our server was quick, efficient and friendly. The food is fantastic! They had a special Valentine's Day menu which included a complimentary heart pizza for couples and I ordered the Love Potion#9 off the drink menu which was really good. We ordered Cheese sticks, and they were HUGE and their marinara sauce is one of the best that I've tasted. They give you a warm loaf of bread but unfortunately cold butter. Just put the butter under the bread and it warms up and makes it easier to spread. The spaghetti with meat sauce was delicious and my man really enjoyed his Fettuccine Alfredo. The prices while not inexpensive, are pretty reasonable and you take home a lot of leftovers so it's definitely worth it to eat here. Kid-friendliness: They have high-chairs and crayons for the kiddo's.
Food was ok but for the price…well…a bit on the pricey side. Our pizza was burnt and the cheese was hard. Very skimpy on the toppings. Service was ok…I would not recommend going here unless you are willing to pay $$$ for ok food. Maybe it was just a bad night for the restaurant but this might be our last time going here. The cheese garlic bread was good and so was the house salad.
Dined in on a Sunday and it was crowded which is good to see! Probably understaffed, the new norm. Party of 12. Some of us ordered drinks others just water along with pizza, chicken marsala, entree salad, sandwiches. 35 minutes before delicious warm bread was brought. After 85 minutes the dinners arrived. I prefer the thin crust pizza. We are a group that meets monthly and usually have separate checks i.e. 5-6 checks but not here so heads up if you're a group have cash! Servers work hard here. Nice view of the Fox river.
Really good food and ambiance, not the cheapest place but the quality is outstanding, would recommend to anyone, we took another couple there a month ago and they want to go back to try the food they did not order last time because the food they did order was excellent.
I've visited Salerno's on multiple occasions, and have always had an absolutely enjoyable experience. The food is absolutely incredible, and the portion sizes are enough for two. I love the ambience, and the fact that it's right on the water, which allows a beautiful view at night. The owner is attentive and welcoming to every guest, which always elevates a good restaurant experience to a great one. My only complaint about my most recent visit is that it took our server nearly 30 minutes to acknowledge our table. This would have been understandable if we had gone on a busy Saturday night, but the dining room was fairly quiet during this visit. Once she did make it to us, she was pleasant and accommodating the rest of the evening. Outside of this, it was another fantastic visit, and I can't wait to return.
Salerno's on the Fox is a must have if you've never been. The view is spectacular and the atmosphere screams "old school feel" that you'll appreciate when it comes to the italian culture. The food here is simply outstanding and the portions are huge. You want homemade Italian that taste right outta mom's kitchen? Salerno's is it! You want a pizza that tastes amazing and is topped like a pizza you've never had before..Salerno's is it! And if you just want to have drink and grab a bite or don't feel the need to dine formally, sit in their bar area for lunch or dinner. The bar area is laxed with a sunken bar and the bartenders/staff are super friendly and attentive. It's mine and my families favorite go to restaurant, close to home, for years and many years to come. Kid-friendliness: Family dining is welcome here.
Beautiful view! Jeanette was a great waitress and very attentive. Breaded clams and calamari were done perfectly. Veal was excellent. Will definitely come back to try the pizza that looked delicious!
Spectacular service. Great food. Our family has a great time celebrating a birthday here. Nice views of the river from inside and patio when the weather is nice. Staff was attentive to adults and kids. Would not hesitate to go again.Food: 5/5
