This is the lunch place I've been looking for. It's clean beautiful, welcoming and the food is awesome. Today we had the fish tacos and they were really an excellent suggestion by one of our co workers. He said they are the best and he was right! I had the Chicken Bacon Ranch wrap and it was perfect. Crunchy quality bacon. The chicken must have a marinate it's soaked in before grilling. Really addictive. The coleslaw is my new #1. My old one was Rudolf's but that doesn't come close to this. They also offered baked beans that I will try next time in addition to the coleslaw. The host and wait staff couldn't have been more accommodating. The outdoor patios are really some of the best plantings I've seen all summer. This is a nice place for meeting family and friends or lunch during the day. Can't wait to go back!
So, kinda a long story. We've been going here for years. At least 8-10 times a year. The food is always so good. The problem was the customer service. It was always so spotty. I can't tell you how many times we went there and were not even offered water in the first 10 minutes. No smile, or I'll be with you shortly. Or how many times I'd have to go up to the bar to refill our drinks. Today, we decided to go again, cause like I said the food is so good. I met Kelly. Best service ever. Not even just here. She checked on us. Was right there for refills and asking how everything was. Definition of a great representative of your restaurant. She made sure we knew the soups and specials before giving us a few moments. The best/crazy part was she introduced us to this discount program they have. A loyalty program. I've been there at least 36 times in the past few years, always during a lunch period as it's my only day off, and never once been informed or offered this. Kelly. You are the best!
Large sports bar restaurant. Staff were very friendly and helpful. You can eat inside or outside. Food was great and very reasonably priced. Draft beers were around $6 each which seemed a little high but this was not during happy hour. Place was busy and appeared to be very popular. Plenty of parking out front. It was also a kid friendly place. Will definitely come here again and would recommend this place to others.
Bad experience. Went on bingo night. It was packed. Entered from the North door to find a small line. After waiting 15 min with no staff contact, we went to the bar to see about how to get a table. We were told to go to the West door to get on the list and get a buzzer. We tried to get a bingo board and were told we would have to wait for the girl working that section if we wanted to play. Never found her. We waited another 15 min before we noticed we were standing next to a table set for a group of 15-20 and only had 7 people at the table. So we asked the table if they would allow us to sit at the empty end of their table to dine. They were more than happy to let us. We asked a waitress, and she told us she would have to ask the Mgr. She returned and told us they don't normally do this, and she was just too busy to deal with telling us no and dealing with it. She then asked the customers if it was OK for us 2 people to sit with them. Keep in mind there was almost 2 empty tables from their group and they were done eating. Then she reminded us they don't usually do this as it puts the customers at the table in an awkward position and she would do it this one time because she didn't want to deal with it us. She was so rude about the whole thing! So they would rather have the empty seats and people waiting in line to spend money. Why wouldn't they have thought to ask the table if the rest of their group was still coming? They could have freed up those tables if they bothered to ask them as they told us the rest of their group didn't show. We decided this wasn't a business that actually wanted our money. So we apologized and thanked the nice people at the table and got up and left.
I love Saks! Such great food and atmosphere. Even a great place to eat now that we have a newborn baby. Emma always makes sure we have a great experience!
We've been here for the fish fry and the baked fish. Earlier in the week for hamburgers. We had 4 or 7 in our group. Everything was brought out on time and delicious! They do not take reservations, but it's worth the wait
Been coming here for years. Used to play Hockey in the vadnais sports center attached to the building. This place used to be so good. Now, they’ve gotten rid of their good burger buns, they’ve changed their fries which used to be second to none. On top of the food going downhill, the manager seems not to care about her customers or the fact that there is a hockey rink attached bc twice now I’ve come here and they haven turned a MN Wild game off for a Packers game when they weren’t even playing the Vikings. I’m here right now and specifically requested a table to see the Wild on the big screen but they instead prioritize a team that isn’t even a Minnesota team because it’s Football and somehow football takes priority here… in the state of Hockey… when it’s not even the Vikings playing…. Yeah, I’ve had enough of this place. Service is bad and the manager is a packers fan which would be fine if she didn’t turn off Minnesota games just to watch her team play while she works.
I am so impressed by the staff and how they handle an a**hole customer. Just because you are the only person watching a particular game doesn't mean you are the "one" and only in the building. Either way the food is great the buns are tasty. Great job staff.
We had a separation off life for my mother inlaw at Sak's today. I called ahead to see if they could accommodate our group, they said they would do what they could to help out. When I got there at 12:00 noon and walked in and thought whet the hell did I do. They had three table setup, a max of approximately 22 people. I had 45-50 people coming, how were they going to handle this. To my surprise jackie our waitresses was spot one she had it all under control, she was awesome I have never had a waitresses like that in a long time, sence the waitresses we use to go to along time ago Which was the bartender here at Sak's. If your looking for great food and awesome service make sure you make Sak's your first stop for a awesome time.
I came in last weeks with my family. Emma was our server and she was amazing! She was very patient with my kids ordering and made sure to accommodate all our substitutions because we are a very picky bunch! 6 stars if I could! Will be back again with the family! The steak bites are THE BEST! Must try!
