I have had many bad experiences in healthcare throughout the years, including at RRMC ER several years ago with Dr. Stronczak. That visit would have been a 0 star review. Amidst COVID the past several years, medical care has been very difficult to access. Patients are being forced into the ER for care that specialists should be dealing with. We are not having our followups, we are being pulled on and off our meds heart medications, blood thinners, etc. because we can’t be seen in time to renew, we haven’t had testing for our ongoing conditions in YEARS. We don’t want to be in the ER anymore then the ER doctors don’t want us there, but I’m glad to see RRMC doctors have not been taking this inefficiency at the specialty level out on the patients. Over the past year I was in the ER twice. Once with Dr. Brass and once with Dr. Harris. Both times I was treated with respect and the doctors were kind, patient and helpful. That is an extreme rarity lately in healthcare. One thing that RRMC should be aware of is that even when ER doctors are urgently referring and arranging a specialist for us the next day in my case, it’s not happening. Dr. Brass told me to go to an ophthalmologist the next morning. He spoke to him at midnight himself. I went there at the time I was told to and was not seen. I still have not been able to get in 16 months later.
The receptionist just told a patient that maybe if he passed out he could get care faster. People coming in on ambulance and just sat in the waiting room... Told it'll be another few hours ‍
If you have a loved one with memory issues this place will not take care of the person and even inform them. They are being unethical hiding behind being short stuffed. Terrible place that knows that there is no other option in the region.
The first 6 hours for an elderly 87 year old was fine with good competent care. But when we sat and waited and waited and waited with not much communication and no food for over 2 more hours there was not much else to do other than write a strongly worded review. The ED at RRMC needs customer care a review!!!!
was seen quickly The doctor was OK But they took Blood test & urine test for NO reason other than to just charge you More, Total con Artists. I told them what was wrong & pretty much diagnosed myself. I only went because i was in extreme Pain. intestines pain
Not bad this time. Have had horrible service here
Sat for 3.5 hours and never got seen.
Since Google’s only category seems to be for the RRMC emergency room, I’ll have to put my comments here regarding my total knee replacement surgery on June 23, 2020. Very impressive. The staff seemed excellent, courteous, professional, and doing all this with the challenge of COVID-19 in the background. Their sanitation efforts were scrupulous and well disciplined. Food was surprisingly good for an institution. I only spent one night there but I was comfortable at all times and would not have hesitated to spend more time if needed. Vermont Orthopedic Clinic’s Dr. Lighthart performed the surgery and about three months out, everything seems fine. I expect to ski in a couple more months. May 5, 2021 edit: started skiing early November and throughout the season. The new knee TKR worked great!
Best E room ever. Felt very cared for by very competent people. Thank you!
