Margaret was able to teach us our wedding dance in a very short time frame, even though we both had no real dance experience. We were very impressed with her teaching skills and the affordability of the private classes and would highly recommend!

Ted Motyka Dance Studio is a great place to learn all types of dances! Excellent beginner instruction, as well as intermediate and advanced lessons. Ted and Margaret are skilled dancers and are such warm people - they make a big effort to reach out to beginners as well as connect with those who've been dancing for a longer time. The facility and the people are top-notch!

Ted Motyka Dance Studio has everything I was looking for: a classy setting, interesting people, and great instruction. The atmosphere is fantastic. This is, of course, a social place, so if you are more introverted there will probably be some initial discomfort. This won't last long though since the people who come here are generally positive and encouraging to those who decide they want to share in this fantastic experience with them. Speaking for their Wednesday salsa classes, as someone with little experience, it was surprisingly easy to get started. If you're wondering whether you will be able to follow along, here's some good news. The first thing you will learn is how to walk. From there you will get to dance with a variety of people while learning some simple steps that you get to put together throughout the class, and the dance party that follows. If you didn't quite get the steps during class, this will be an excellent opportunity to ask the instructor, and other students, for pointers. If you've been on the fence about trying dancing for a little while, I was too. I only wish I hadn't waited the few years from first hearing about this place to giving it a shot.

I came to the studio for the first time 16 years ago and was warmly welcomed by Ted and Margret since day one. Since then I have taken classes, danced socially, performed and taught at the studio, and have ALWAYS felt the same warm welcome throughout the years. I appreciate all the good times I had at the studio and have a lot of wonderful memories of the friendly atmosphere, wonderful people and many dances I've had throughout those years, as well as amazing opportunities to participate in some great dance events in the city as part of the studio. I would definitely recommend the studio to any dancer, whether they are just starting out or are an experienced dancers simply looking for a great place to enjoy themselves and dance their feet away.

The space is gorgeous, Ted and Margaret are huge supporters of all the dancing in Winnipeg: ballroom, salsa, swing, Irish and more. I dance there at least twice a week, with only positive experiences. Ted and Margaret are excellent teachers, with years of experience in ballroom - you can't get better ballroom instruction in Winnipeg!

I've been taking salsa lessons on Wednesday evenings since the summer and I love every minute of it! Everyone is so welcoming and friendly. So I thought I would try the ballroom dance on Friday nights. I had an amazing time! After the lesson is open dance and there are so many friendly people who come and don't mind dancing with someone who is new to dancing. Everyone I danced with treated me with kindness and respect. Every dance was a mini personal lesson. I can't get enough and I can't wait to learn more. I'll keep going back.

I first attended this studio with two left feet, no experience, no dance partner, and no idea what I was getting myself into. The friendly and personable instructors made me feel right at home and always made sure everyone had someone to dance with. The excellent instruction helped my dancing, and the fantastic community kept me coming back, and it wasn't long before I had the chance to be the one "paying it forward", welcoming new-comers and inviting strangers to dance.

I love dancing at Ted Motyka's! It's one of the best floors I've ever danced on in Winnipeg. The building is gorgeous and always well taken care of. They support the various dance scenes in the city in any way that they can. Ted and Margaret are some of the kindest people that I've ever met. You should definitely inquire about Ted Motyka's!

I have danced at the studio for over 10 years at the McDonnell school of irish dance which is based out of the studio. The owners are some of the best people around! I highly reccomend for anyone wanting to dance in a historic building

Ted, Margaret, and other instructors provide private , group, or drop in classes in a wide range of Ballroom Rumba, Tango, Cha Cha, Samba, Waltz, Foxtrot, Quickstep, and Latin dance Salsa, Bachata.
