For a long time I've been passing this place. Tonight we ordered the messy seafood bag. WOW. It was great. The seasoning was very good and enough food for the 2 of us. The staff is wonderful. I cant wait to go back and try more. I live fried chicken and Mac and cheese so thats going to be my next order.
I’ve eaten at quite a few soul food places in NYC and Ruby Mae’s is a cut above the rest. The juicy fried chicken was crispy and perfectly seasoned, the Mac n cheese was delicious and candies yams weren’t overly sweet. Definitely one of the best and most reasonably priced restaurants in the area. Friendly service too.
Absolutely love their food and their staff make you feel like you have come home right as you enter the door. You have to try their ribs, their fried chicken, greens, and the corn bread is to die for! Such a fantastic place and really excited for their new location!
The chicken was insanely good. Best I've had in Kingston by far. Can't wait to go back and get some more! As somebody else said, it's not fast food but definitely worth the wait. The atmosphere is warm and friendly so if you go knowing that "real" food takes time you'll enjoy the whole experience.

First time ever having food at Ruby Mae and I’ve never ever had better soul food. The baked mac and cheese was amazing and the friend chicken sandwich was cooked perfect. The waitress also the chef was so friendly and played the best music in the background. Definitely recommend eating here x100
Hands down the best restaurant on the waterfront and the best soul food you’re gonna find in all of Ulster County. Baked Mac and cheese was absolutely perfect, shrimp and grits are an out of this world experience and the sauce they put on the burgers is bomb. Locals need to make sure Ruby Mae becomes a staple here!
I attended the Valentine's Day dinner and concert, we had an amazing time. The food was great, the staff was extremely hospitable and the music by Base Camp was outstanding as always. I will definitely return when I'm in the area again.
