Cute little house with incredible food, lots of character and a relaxed but refined atmosphere. The brisket and fried chicken were our favourite dishes, both being incredibly flavourful. Great cocktails- would recommend City Slicker and the Ruby for anyone. Also loved the “mocktail” options. Can’t wait to come in and enjoy the sunroom more.
Party of 3 for mothers day lunch, we shared a number of the small plates and all of them were delish! Love love love the fiddleheads! Also had the ceviche, gnocchi, panzanella salad, and 2 very tasty and refreshing mocktails. If you love fine dining at a very reasonable price, this is definitely the place to go! Toured the house which is just so charming and welcoming
Had the best experience here at this lovely new restaurant! The building is so unique and the atrium with the moving roof was so cool. We ordered the brisket burger and chicken sandwich and it was DELICIOUS! Service was phenomenal and the owner Kathleen was so wonderful and inviting. I would 100% recommend this place!
Came here for my girlfriend's and mine birthdays last night. The food was fantastic, everything was quite unique which made it really fun to try new things. We had the lamb, fiddleheads, a salad, and a crumble for dessert. Everything was delicious, tasted fresh and service was excellent. We will be back to try other things on the menu in the future.
Fantastic new restaurant! On a quiet street, with a gorgeous patio/atrium space. The service was so attentive and friendly - they really went above and beyond with keeping our tables tidy and ensuring we always had everything we needed. The cocktail was perfectly balanced, and they had a great selection of mocktails for those who don't drink. And of course, the food was phenomenal, with great portions for the price. We adored the fiddleheads and the duck confit. The lamb was so succulent. And the desserts!! Oh my god!! You have to get the rhubarb crisp. It was heavenly. So glad to see more establishments like this in Calgary and definitely highly recommend it.
The food is spectacular! We especially enjoyed the duck wings and the fiddleheads. They also have some delightful and creative cocktails including an extensive selection of non-alcoholic beverages that are delicious and taste decidedly grown up. We will definitely be back!Food: 5/5
Great experience here. Meeting the owner and hearing the story of the historic building. The staff are warm and welcoming and the chef is seriously talented! Will definitely be going back to try more of the menu! Oh... The cocktails!!! SO GOOD!!!
Well I can say with confidence, that I think I just found my new favourite spot in Calgary. The food was excellent. Service was excellent. And the overall vibe?! Well that was excellent too. It's rare to find a spot that is cozy, has delicious food, and unreal mocktails. Can't wait to go back!
We had a fabulous dinner at Ruby and the Beast when my cousin came to town. Two of us are celiac, so I called ahead to make sure there were options for us. They walked me through the gluten free options over the phone and let me know that they have a dedicated gluten free fryer. When the three of us arrived we were warmly greeted and told that the kitchen had already been made aware of our dietary restrictions. This immediately gave us confidence that we were in good hands. The ambiance is casual but elevated. The staff was very attentive without being over bearing. The menu is super interesting and creative. We shared two small plates to start - baked cheese with toasted pistachios and fresh figs I could have eaten that all night!, and grilled calamari putanesca. The gluten eater also devoured a plate of foccacia with cilantro mint butter. Everything was delicious! For our mains my husband and cousin ordered the coffee encrusted brisket with sweet potato mash, and I had grilled Mahi Mahi with a variety of fresh vegetables. Everything was to die for and the portions were so generous that we took some home. The wine list was decent and they offer a handful of craft beers, and inventive mocktails. We can't wait to return and try more things on the menu. I meant to take photos because the plates were beautifully presented... but we were so excited to dig in that it slipped my mind. You'll just have to go and see for yourself. Parking: Street parking, which is free after 6 pm Dietary restrictions: Dedicated gluten free fryer and knowledgeable, accommodating servers
