This place is fabulous. Skate park. Playground,a few tables under covers and/or trees. A baseball field on the far right and also on the far right is the path to the river a small area open to sit by the river. Shallow enough amd slow enough to play in It has a 4 tenths of a mile walking path as well. It is kept pretty clean and the bathrooms are not bad at all for being public.
Update: the city no longer even tries to provide a portapotty in this park at all. It was too constantly vandalized. **since this review we found a crack pipe in this park, right by the play area, then came back a few months later and the whole area under toys was torn up and unlevel due to flooding, bathrooms were seemingly permanently locked and the port a potty in front of them was smeared in hand prints of dried feces. People were still playing there and especially at the skate park but my kids don't want to try again.** This park is actually pretty wonderful and has great areas in it for families, however, some of the workout areas along the path have partially rotted apart and the riverbed area in the big pretty swimming hole had a lot of cigarette butts. It is a park that is less used by far than Borst park, and that's too bad since it has such a beautiful swimming spot and 3 or 4 separate but close to each other play areas and none are broken like the one at Borst. We played, took a walk, played again, and sat by the river watching a kingfisher swoop by and go back to his nest.
Playgrounds are a work in progress, still.. but plenty of space to enjoy the outdoors. Also access to the river. There are two horseshoe pits and three reservable covered picnic areas. A trail goes around a large grass field with two baseball diamonds on it and there are a couple of fitness stations around the trail as well, like pull up bars and stuff. The grassy field is usually riddles with mole hills but my toddler loves them, lol. There are plenty of trees for shady areas and squirrel/bird watching. There are a few benches not under cover as well as bathrooms and a water fountain that I'm not sure if it works. The skatepark is right there too. With a basketball hoop. Picnic area: 3 reservable covered areas, several picnic benches separate not covered.
In 2021, this was an above average park. Lovely to stop at as a half-way point when doing the Portland-Seattle drive. My 2 year old loved the toddler playground. Aa of Nov 2022, this park has been vandalized and is not a place to bring kids. The foam tiles on the ground have been haphazardly pulled up. There was a person throwing trash onto the bathroom roof. The park had obviously seen some stuff. This park has potential - it was lovely just a year ago, but it’s not worth stopping at now.
The Rotary Riverside Park was a nice little spot for my family and I to unwind. It's close to all the shopping and gave us the opportunity to relax for a bit while the kids played. It looks like they have some fun renovations underway as well. I look forward to seeing what develops in the near future. Best regards, Lance Denison
Great family park skate park next to it playground water accessible beautiful great for sports bikes walking runners ‍ and more
Smaller than expected but a good place to visit. Beautiful riverside park. I will be back!
Awesome park near the river with a lots for the kids to play on and the riverside to explore.
Beautiful Xmas lights
It has been slowly becoming a bit overgrown with time and a lack of funds, the benches and toys are slowly falling into gradual disrepair but even with all that it is still a very nice quiet nature walk along the river in a lazy Sunday afternoon with a friend. There is a myriad of little animals scurrying along in the damp leaves and the river flowing in he background. There is an occasional jogger or dog walker since it is a city park in them I'd let of the city
