This place was super cute and I would consider going back. The prices were decent and nice waitress. The chicken little was simple and good service. I am a little disappointed on meat portion due to being only half a patty. Several errors occurred, one by waitress and one by cook. What was asked for, were forgotten. The table got a pitcher of coffee which I found convenient when wanting more coffee without waiting for a refill.
Food was so-so. Chicken Fried Steak, good, but have had better. Husband got the fried chicken plate, $19.99. 4 small pieces of "fried" chicken, which had been boiled and then fried, so tasted like boiled chicken. NOT worth the $$ Party of 10, others ordered burgers, monte cristo sandwich. Chicken breast plate, which looked good.
Great experience!!! Driving thru from Washington on our way to New York and ordered some breakfast. It was way too early, to eat THAT amount of food!!! The portions were a lot!!! Definitely worth the money. They make their own pancake batter and even their own syrup. Even their Omelettes were very tasty and huge!!! What I liked was the fact that they put a thermos of coffee so I didn’t have to wait to get a refill, I just leisurely filled my coffee when I needed more coffee. The waitress Reina was very friendly and conversational. She did warn us about the food portion, unfortunately we didn’t listen. Haha. I highly recommend this restaurant if you’re hungry. I mean really hungry.
The waitress was kinda slow, not too attentive. The food was served barely warm, which was unnerving. Kinda a pet peeve of mine. The wait staff's primary responsibility is to get food to the table HOT. Make sure the patron has EVERYTHING they need to have a fantastic experience. Our waitress fell short. So, that's a big reason for three stars. If our food was even warm, and we were more of a priority it could have been a different experience. Oh, and we LOVE freezer jam, and they have it here. And the coffee was nicely strong. Coloring on the table is quite a novel idea, especially if you have fidgeting kids. Lol
I was seated fast, and the server was very friendly even though the staff was stressed out due to the high volume of customers. Ordered the biscuits and gravy with a side of sausage and eggs. Both the biscuits, and sausage were certainly above average, and very flavorful. I would certainly stop back in again next time I’m in the area.
Stopped on our way through the state. Had breakfast for lunch. Great home cooked food and decent prices, $27 for 2. Awesome service. We got there at noon and were seated right away. Good iced tea and bacon "cooked to order" .. wonderfully crisp bacon! My 4 star vs 5 rating was only because it's an older building that definitely needs some attention, including the restrooms. Very clean!!! Basically, if you love great home cooked food, this is worth the stop! Wheelchair accessibility: No steps or stairs, bathroom has accessible stall.
Had breakfast: The Rooster, The Ultimate Rooster, and pancakes. Food was delicious and the service exceptional. It is a cute theme and very comfortable eating environment.
First stop for food on a 1,400 miles road trip towards Arizona. I continued with my vertical tasting of chicken fried steak and eggs. I arrived on a sleepy Monday morning. The staff was sweet and attentive. I loved my CFS.
We stop here every time we travel either to Portland or Boise.. I always enjoy the food but it is not nearly as good the service. I'm not saying that the food is good cause it is great. I'm just saying that the servers are awesome people that always refill drinks check back to see how the meal is. Plus they have some of the best desserts I've ever had. If you haven't stopped in for a meal you are missing out...
If you’re not a huge eater, maybe think of sharing. Food is really good— best French toast I’ve had in a while. Huge sausage links. Enormous omelette. Worth the price, but make sure you come famished!
