Great store for the hunter/fisher/outdoorsman.
Such a friendly, helpful place when visiting the Oquossoc/Rangelely area. They have a big selection of gear for your active needs and are happy to provide all kinds of advice, maps, guides, and suggestions. Jerry is a fine fisherman and takes folks out on local lakes each morning for trout and salmon. Sonny is a retired fisheries biologist for Maine's Dep't of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, very knowledgeable and available for guiding fly fishermen. Definitely stop in here!
Great store, very helpful
This fly shop is awesome!! I have been in here several times but yesterday we went in bought some last minute items we needed and ask about the local conditions. They spent a lot of time answering questions and giving us ideas on places to try. In the end we decided to do a river canoe run where they take you to a spot to park your vehicle and they run you up the river with a rental canoe. You canoe/fish down to where you vehicle is. Unfortunately the canoe we were given was leaky. When we had just got back to our truck the canoe retrieval guys pulled in and as we were leaving i told one of the gentlemen that our canoe was leaky and we had to stop and empty it several times. He apologized for it and said they'd get a look at the canoe. My buddy and I figured that was the end of it. About an hour later we got a call from the shop and they wanted to know where to send a refund check for our rental. Now they have us for life because they treated us correctly!! Most businesses now adays are only interested in the now and obviously this shop is operating with good old fashioned values treating people the way they should be. BRAVO!! Thanks for making us feel important enough to do the right thing! Thank you and we'll see you soon!
Wow, just Wow! We cannot say enough about this store the enployee was great, and there was a guide there too that helped my husband while I looked around the store, they have a variety of flies, maps, fishing gear and books for the fisherman and for their spouse and children they are also covered- clothes, trinkets, and so much more they are close to the museum and will be a stop each and everytime we come to the area.
Always enjoy fishing with my parents and getting lures and bait here for the past decade. Was very thrown on my last visit seeing “black guns matter” shirts... seemed blatantly, even proudly racist to me. Luckily we have freedom of speech so people and businesses can show their true colors. Will be going elsewhere
Enjoy this little gem. Boyfriend is a trolling fisherman. Word gets around fast through this store on what the fish are hitting. Pink crushed ice was our favorite this year...
Great fly selection for the area lakes and rivers what I went in for. Friendly folks who run the store.
