This is a different kind of park. Better than some, but not as good as our usuals . Lots of poop laying around, which is to me, a reflection of the visitors. That’s unfortunate. I walked around the whole time picking up people trash and a ton of poop. Mae had fun, sniffing everything in the big dog park, so it was a success. It’s wide open, no cover or big trees, grass, or watering holes. There is a little dog park, but it was mid morning and no one was using it.
Almost entirely dirt/pebbles/mini wood chips. Not a bad thing in my opinion, just prepare for a dusty pup afterwards! Also means less chance of ticks so that’s a win in my book. Fairly large area to run, a couple benches one or two by a tree so if you get there at the right time you’ll catch the shade and a picnic table. Just outside the gated area is a beach with plenty of people floating down the river In tubes and kayaks. Large fairly well maintained gravel parking lot that is shared with beach go-ers. There is also a designated dog beach area - Far more dogs in the water area than the gated dirt area. Only reason I didn’t give this five stars is because the lack of shade.
The off-leash area can be very muddy, no grass. The trails in the surrounding parks are great for a walk with your pooch.
Good dog park for a swimmer but the actual dog park on land is a dirt/gravel patch and zero shade thus only 4 stars overall. But the water part is GREAT for a dog that wants to swim! It gets really crowded so I would suggest going at odd times if you can early or late. Great people watching too as you're right at the public drop in for floating the deschutes.
There's no shade, and the dog park near the river has a steep rocky drop into the water, so it's not super convenient for the dogs to jump in.
This is the dogs favorite park. It use to have wood chips, but they planted two trees recently, I'm sure they get their fair share use. Dog approved
Big fenced park with tables and benches to sit at, and fresh water spicket was available .Also, it has a few entrances, and overlooks the Deschute river and walking trail. *A couple more trash bins would be helpful. There's was only one for about an acre lot.
I absolutely love this place. You got loads of parking if you want to float there's a small bedrock and sand little Landing to go into the water if you want to swim there's all kinds of places to swim the people are a very chill vibe and who doesn't love floating by an Amphitheater playing tons of music
Its all bark mulch and gravel with a couple of trees in each section there are 2 sections. The little dog section has cute ad on's with the little sign. Note: there is a porta potty rite out side the small dog area.
My dogs love this park. It's clean and beautiful ! One of Bend's coolest places! Good job Bend!! We love you!
