Beautiful setting, convention going on lots of groups everywhere. Small menu but big on taste, lots of local beers, everyone seemed to be ordering the double IPA, loved the Huckleberry Lemon Drop! Seafood stew with perfectly crisp sour dough bread was great!Food: 5/5
Beautifully appointed bar and bistro inside of Skamania Lodge. Very friendly service. Had the John Jacobs Manhattan. It was delicious! The fish tacos and bison chili were also great.
We have been here several times. Located inside the Skamania Lodge in Stevenson WA. Ambiance galore! Food is so so. Service is satisfying. Views are spectacular all year around!Food: 4/5
Great customer service. Good food. I read the reviews and was kind of wondering if we should even go here, but the outdoor view and the monopoly pushed me towards it. So there are two restaurants at the lodge; the cascade dining room which is seated and a little more upscale, then the river rock room which has a bar and different menu. This review is on the Cascade dining room. Called to book a res about a week and a half out. The girl accepting was new she told me this she seemed confused when booking and when I had to change times due to competing events, but when we arrived to the property it was in there and able to be changed again so good. Mrs Jewell the hostess was super nice and professional. She greeted us, was welcoming and was super nice to our son. Her side job is basically to tell guests that walk up that it's going to be an hour wait or so without a res, on a full house, on a Saturday night mind you, at least that's what I observed, lol. She is awesome. She seated us, was super nice to our son and remembered my sons name as we left. Pretty cool. John was our server. He had a wide coverage area this night, but checked on us and our son constantly. Made good wine pairing recommendations, knew the menu, provided a small to-go box for leftovers when asked. Overall he was a super nice guy and great at his job. All of the staff, not even working our area was super nice. To include the waves from the line cooks on the way out as they have an open view kitchen very cool. We tried a small sampling of the steelhead chowder. Was pretty good. I regret not trying the bison chili, lol. She had the prime rib, I had a bone in porterhouse pork chop. Both cooked and seasoned well other reviews must of caught them on a bad night I guess. The beef was rare as requested again other reviews, standard au jus and horseradish. Paired with a fresh potato mash and a few asparagus sticks. A really good dish. The pork chop was thick and cooked well, paired with grilled micro carrots and sautéed onions. With a smear of a bourbon reduction that tied the dish together. I would have liked to see a starch on this dish. They modified some apples from the kids menu for us so we could feed our boy, super cool of the cook staff. Given inflation, price for supplies, the lack of servers/cooks in the current service industry and the monopoly that they have on the lodge guests; food prices were fair and servings were adequate. The wine was ok, local stuff. Kind of high priced. We tried both red and white. Took some back to the room. I wanted to drop a review because everyone was so nice to our young son and to us. The food was good, the views are awesome and you can take booze back to your room, lol. Try to make reservations if you know you're staying at the lodge over the weekend. Thanks to all.
Pizza was great the 1st night but needed to be cooked longer. Friends had it tonight and also said it needed to be cooked longer but otherwise great. Burger & beer $20 special was not so great. Beer was awesome but burger was average at best. The only reason I gave service 4 stars was because they were obviously understaffed the 2nd night The server did her best with tons of tables but had a hard time getting back to us. The 1st night we were there I had a new server who was being trained still but was on her own for the 1st time and she did great.
This place sure is beautiful, everywhere you look there is beauty, the inside of the restaurant looks amazing, lodge style. The exterior is even better, you get to eat out in front of nature. I wish I was able to express the same feeling about the food and the service, but is not the case. The food was not cook properly, no flavor either, the Prime rib was truly disappointing, two of us did not eat the prime rib steak it ended up in the trash. I feel sad saying this because I love prime rib, the cook or chef needs a better handle on their cooking. The Pizza was one of the worst we have eaten. Customer service that evening was far from good service. The following morning was completely different and much better. There is 15% tip added to your total, not sure why since they are not providing a service of catering to us at the table, we are only buying the food. Everyone eating outside had to clean their table and trash their leftovers and run back inside to get your own refills. To us, our party, we are accustom to leave 15% to 30% base on the service and food.
Super nice servers and good food. Had a burger and pizza and both were good. Their holiday drinks were also yummy. Would return again :
We had a company appreciation trip to the Skamania Lodge and we had a nice casual dinner and drinks Friday night, which was perfect after a day of travel. Trevor, our server was very attentive. Food was delicious. The only negative was they didn't open until 2 p.m. and on a couple of our days we would have liked to eat lunch there.
I arrived at about 1045 and was told that if my 2nd person didn't get there quickly we would have to wait for turnover from Sunday Brunch Buffet to A la carte Lunch Well that was not clear so hurried in and there was slim pickings on the Buffet. The staff might have realized it so they began bringing out more replenishment food but the wait for that was over 20 minutes and I think they ended up eating their words not food and pushing back Lunch opening I also overheard ahead of me the hostess arguing woth a group that was supposed to be there for a bridal am brunch and said that they were too dull and they should have come earlier Now that might be true but the presentation was a bit "off". Luckily the group of 8 plus did not argue .... but clearly there a mix up again in what was either advertised and what was real. The food selection once refilled was good, and the mimosas at least made the wait pleasant. Parking: Lots in area above building
Food is pretty good. Atmosphere is warm and cozy, the nice TVs play sports games. Service is on the slow side.
