Story

Established in 1850.

Lowell School of Business in NY was established in 1850 by Daniel W. Lowell where he spent his life supervising the training of thousands of young men and women for business careers.

Ridley Secretarial School was founded in New York in 1936 by Earle D. Ridley. He provided business training for students and, in turn, supplied business and professional communities with personnel fully trained in the most modern office techniques of the day.

In 1968, the schools were consolidated into one structure; today Ridley-Lowell is one of America's oldest private business schools in continuous operation.

In 1976 the schools became one corporate structure under the leadership of current president, W.T. Weymouth and Executive Vice President, Norma Weymouth. The success of its students as active members of the workforce and Ridley's dedication to the continued success of its communities led to a later demand for expansion. There are now eight Ridley-Lowell campus buildings in New York, Connecticut with latest opening in West Warwick, Rhode Island. This is a family run network of schools with daughters Lauren and Andrea Weymouth actively involved in creating strong communities within the learning halls.

I attended a few years ago and it was a joke. There were only 3 women teachers there that actually cared. The director, if thats what you call her,was awful. She was so rude and snobby. Like you were beneath her. There was also a male assistant director i think...even worse. He would bring his dog into the school and just strutted around. I hope for the new students' sake that the administrative staff have been replaced. They were no help to the students at all. Keep in mind, i was an A student with near perfect attendance.

In all honesty; I was enrolled in this school for a trade that I thought would make my life better, but instead I signed up for the wrong school. Nothing but false promises and inconsistency to an unprofessional level. The course I was in was not well established and the teachers were always late; or they didn't show up and they didn't even bother to call so I wasted my gas traveling back and forth. The directors had nothing but excuses and never followed through with their words. They withdrew me without my consent and canceled the course on me and a few other students. They said I could come back "IF" they decide to continue the course. Like I'm just supposed to put my life on hold. This was unprofessional and very unacceptable.

Great School !!! I feel people who write negative comments about this school does not understand what college is ... No college is perfect.. Teachers are not perfect. To expect that is silly. I attend now and love it. I know that I have to work hard and attend classes. People with poor attitudes are the ones expecting an easy way out !!!

I loved this school and was most impressed by the administrative staff. They are so helpful and kind and will help you reach your goal of a better course in life! The dean was the nicest, anyone is lucky to go there.
