Ridgway Electric

2/5/15: Hired Scott Ridgeway to install a 220V in my basement. Took 5 days and still messed up, attempted to charge me $500. It was only a 30-minute job for another subcontractor at a total cost of $80. 3/7/16: Attempted to hire Scott and his gang for further work. Never returned calls. On a personal note, do not waste your time with these guys. Scott and his wife have their own personal demons to deal with; thus, neither should be allowed to service household or commercialized electrical needs, nor allowed to hypocritically teach elementary students. -John Trevino (Ottumwa)

I only met the owner when he was doing work at the kids' baseball field. He has been helping for years, a dad told me. He and two other guys do all the work keeping the ball fields up to code. And they're volunteers. So. That's not exactly about electrical work in and of itself, it gives you some idea of the owner's character.

We lost power in our living room and it has been out for the past 3 months. After calling and calling every electrician in town for a month (Oskaloosa) we finally got a hold Overbergen Electric. He came to look at our problem and said it was more than a "one call" fix. We waited another 3 weeks to get him back over and guess what...NO SHOW. I call him to let him know he missed our appointment and he said that he forgot. Then he told me he would be able to come the next day. After waiting for him all day again, he fails to show. So we begin to call the other local electricians and still no one answers our calls or calls back. Today (Sunday, mind you) we call Ridgway Electric and he answers his cell (thank god). He says that he can be here tomorrow. So after 3 months and several phone calls later we call an out of town electrician on a Sunday...and he agrees to come and help us out on Monday. THANK YOU RIDGWAY ELECTRIC!!!! The only electrician that has been professional thus far. If you need urgent reliable help call Ridgway Electric in Ottumwa. If you are from Oskaloosa don’t bother contacting any electrician in town, they won’t answer their phone or call you back. Good Luck.
