OM! Just stop wondering where to eat in Hinton and come here!! Our food was fantastic! Service was friendly, calm and very helpful. Kids meals were great, plus dessert for them! Our salad was great and their house dressing was so tasty!!
We had the club house and the xl burger meals, both were excellent, the coleslaw was the best we have had. Highly recommend those meals. Beer on draft was good also. Reasonable prices and excellent service.
Elaina was a marvelous waitress! Eggs Benny were flavorful and prepared to taste and the coffee flowed freely. Great breakfast stop, and you get a discount if staying at the adjacent hotel.
Ordered dinner for the family tonight. The breakfast items one of my children chose chicken and waffles was loved. However the dinner options weren't as favored... The burgers the rest of us got were mush by time they arrived an hour later. The side Caesar salad I ordered was a small cup maybe 1/2 full of some greens but it wasn't what I ordered, and barely a salad. For the I price paid, I'd need pushing to choose Ricky's over the other options in town.
Our experience at this Ricky's was great! The server seemed to be managing the whole restaurant by herself on Canada Day, so service was a little slow, but understandable. The portion sizes were immense, and the waffles were exactly what we were looking for. The location itself was clean, modern and easy to find off the highway.
Gluten free son ordered lettuce wrapped sandwich, he was brought the full bun sandwich AFTER server was told about gluten sensitivity and she said she would make kitchen aware. Same server placed my food in front of me then leaned over my plate to pass my daughter her plate, pushing the torso of her absolutely filthy shirt into my food. Long wait for food despite only having 4-5 tables occupied.
After a long day on Maligne Lake we decide to eat here since we were staying at the Best Western right next to it. I had the burger and my wife had the nacho’s with extra chicken and both were really good. The service was friendly even though she was alone for the first part of our stay.
I ordered the Wine braised beef short rib and it was a mess. It was a tiny portion and way overcooked. What a waste of money..
I would like to say that the staff did everything that they could. Our hockey team from GP booked in advance. I was one of the first people there and they were understaffed, 3 people on staff to look after 40 plus just for us. I showed up at 6:10 pm and it wasn't until 7:45 that we received our first drink, I had to go get it. It was another 15 mins before the kids at the table received there drinks. 20 mins before meals were received. I will not go back again. I do give credit to the staff for trying to do what they can, imagine the waitress who had to cook, make drinks and try serve everyone.. Parking: It is part of a hotel, so they had a lot of parking.
My friend and I each ordered multiple meals/plates each and we're 100% satisfied. Our waitress was wonderful and the environment was welcoming. I recommend the breakfast bowls and chorizo hashbrowns!Food: 5/5
