Would I call it an overpriced tourist attraction? Yes. But if you can look past the cost, it’s a fun experience. There are plenty of food stalls, and while not everything is worth trying, you can always check reviews to see what stands out. It’s more enjoyable to go with a group so you can try more items.nnPersonally, my favorites were the Lamb Noodles from Chef James Co, the Pork Dumplings from Momo's, and the Mango Paradise from Taco Nori Sushi Tacos. The Coconut in a Cup from One Coconut was just okay. As for the Deep-Fried Squid from Squid Feast and the Spot Prawns from Ocean Sweets, BBQ Squid Mix from Lao Er BBQ Squid, they tasted mid. Beyond food, they also have shops and games. I don’t think it’s worth spending money outside of food, but it’s worth a look.
food was really good, much better than expected! stinky tofu was authentic, tasted almost similar to the ones in changsha. fried squid was amazing, so tender and crispy, the people really gave a lot for the size small portion. mango sticky rice was also my favourite!nhowever, the price is just way too high, these would normally be sold at a third/half the price. on top of that, admission fee is pricey, which makes you want to spend more in the night market to get your money’s worth…nfun experience but probably wouldn’t go back because of the prices!!
Honestly, I always enjoy RNM.nBeen going for years and it's really what you make of it.nnEntrance is $5, parking is massive and FREE, the food can be a bit pricey - but the variety is there and it's food I wouldn't have normally nor regularly. You go to try new things and just have fun with the food pallet.nnGo with a sociable/curious group of friends or partner, go have a good time, try some interesting food, buy some cute trinkets and take some cute photos.nnBuen Provecho! :nn*Bring cash - they have multiple ATMS... but save yourself the fee*
I’m sad it took me 3 trips to Vancouver to finally go to the Richmond Night Market. It was quite a long line to get in at 1900, but it only helped my appetite. We got a free lobster hat upon entrance which delighted my niece. We ate at several different stalls. My favorite was the toasted mochi and the mango sticky rice!
As a 1st time visitor to Canada from California, I was very excited to visit. But as I queued up to pay to enter, I quickly realized this is a place for teens and people under 30. Someone thought it would be funny to have kids, mostly 12 and under, sing adult pop songs on the large stage next to the ticket booth. I couldn't see them while still in the queue, but it was an assault on the ears. Once in, there were many booths selling dollar store items for outrageous sums. There were many booths selling carnival junk foods at near-Michelin star prices. Then there were the carnival games. Do it once if you must, but temper your expectations.
