By far the worst Wic office. Stopped getting wic for my oldest son years ago because of the horrible workers and almost ten years later with my second son it’s the same. Everyone is rude with nasty attitudes and seem like they don’t know how to do their jobs or they just don’t want to. Wish I could give them no stars at all.
By far the most useless government workers I have ever encountered. I had a 9 a.m. appointment, fast forward to 10 a.m. I call to see why I hadn’t received a call after being transferred 3 times to 3 different people who didn’t know what building they were in let alone where to direct my call, I finally got someone from the WIC office only to be told they are backed up which I understand but don’t schedule EVERYONE at 9a.m. Then I was told to wait a few more minutes for a call after I’ve already waited an hour… 10:10 and still no call. Please do better South Carolina, very Unacceptable!
My wife had an "over the phone" appointment at the beginning of Jan. for WIC. She was notified via email the night before of required documents that needed to be faxed by the appointment time. She had sent them before the appt time but the woman on the phone said that she'll call back as soon as she receives the documents. When she called back, she told my wife that she'll need to be set up for a future appt. Finally have that app set for over a month away and now lost WIC benefits until after the next appt.
I had a phone appointment for review of benefits for my son today in which I took off of work for. I called ahead of time to make sure I would be called. The girl on the phone was rude and just said they will call you, she did not even ask for my name or say she would contact my case worker. I called back 45 minute after my appointment time because I still had not received a call and the woman told me someone would call next week- if not today and just to look out for a 576 number. So how am I to answer the phone at work when I have no idea when they are calling?? I already lost a work day to wait for the phone call and now my son is out of benefits!! Seems very unfair because I did everything I was supposed to do!!
I was calling the health center about tying get an appointment for immunization. My call was picked up at 4:30-4:40pm on 1/4/22 by a lady named Cheyenne in immunization. Where she asked standard question and I answered them. Until we got to a question of race which I did not will comfortable answering and told her “Do I have to answer that question?” Where she replied, “I’m asking a question.” So Informed her that there is a option to where it states ‘prefer not to answer’ this were she had started getting a bit defensive. This was also not the problem but then she begin to say that I could not book a appointment. Her defense was that is not the immunization/ appointment dept. So I asked her for a supervisor to get a better explanation of the situation. But she refused saying the “we do not have one.” So then I asked her why am I being refused service. Also told her to transfer me to the correct department where proceeded to say, “I do not have to do this.” After this I asked her again why is refusing me of this service. She finally got a date but at that point was confused/annoyed that it would me better to talk to someone else. However, called again and no one answered. I tried to call someone about a complaint that the Receptionist gave me but could not leave a voicemail because it was full Virginia Gibson. I would like know why your employees are refusing of service where all of our taxes go. I would also like to submit a formal complaint to whom were this Cheyenne works. I am truly concern about that employee because I really need this for legal reason and she wants to assurt authority.
I had been getting the telephone transfers and not finding what I needed to get a child school vaccines. Miss Ave, in the RECORDS department, went out of her way to find me answers and give me phone numbers to help me. She wasn't even part of the appointment process but she was an ANGEL! and made such an effort to help me out I cannot praise her enough. Restoration of faith in people caring. Thank You Miss Ave!!
While the care in getting my Covid Vaccine was great, I had a hard time after I left - DUE TO the nurses here not respecting my service dog. I had multiple nurses BOTH times I went for my vaccine talk to my dog, who was working. One nurse even attempted to shake her paw and approach us. I’d like for this team to be properly educated on why this is unacceptable. What if my dog had missed an alert for a seizure? What if I had gotten hurt from that? You never know why someone has a service dog, and distracting them can cause actual harm! I understand that they are cute, but these are NOT the dogs to speak to. She was clearly marked as a service dog, and her vest even says GIVE US SPACE! Please educate your staff. This could be so detrimental to someone. Thank you.
If I could give them zero stars I would don’t go to Richland at all. First very unprofessional, ladies up there will tell on the phone with you most definitely the Nutritionist Beverly. She had me on hold multiple times , yelling, and will try to put the blame on you to make it seem like you started the conflict. I ask to get the supervisor number, she kept saying she’ll just contact me over I kept getting loud to get the number and finally received it. She will talk over you , this is why people say these phones will have someone act brave. Even the supervisor is unprofessional don’t wanna get back in contact with you if you leave a voicemail.DONT EVER TO RICHLAND WIC OFFICE NOR DEAL WITH THEM!
My WIC app gave me an update prior to my appointment. I received a phone call reminding me a day before which was amazing.Jeanette and Sharen were Amazing very professional, helpful and helped inform me with all updates and WIC packet changes. Thanks for everything Richland county
WIC here is horrible. I make an appointment i get here 45mins to an hour early each time because my number is called hours after my appointment time. I always spend 3+ hours here weather im on time or early. I have event spent a total of 5 at one time.It takes way to long. Be prepared to spend the whole day here. The lobby has more people waiting then the workers can assist in a timely matter. Ive been to multiple WIC offices and by far this is the worst. I don't think appointments should be made if you still have to draw a number and wait 20 people in line. You never get ask what you are there for untul your number is called. Something is way wrong with the system they have set up. Once you are actually seen By 3 diffrent people that process doesn't take long so im not sure what is going on in the back for it to take hours to be called. Someone should look into this office and see what the problem is. I know multiple people have had to waste time here and leave because they didn't get seen on time of their appointments and had other appointments or plans. 15 to 30 mins after your scheduled appointment i understand hours after no explanation.
