Rex Dog Hotel + Spa is a family owned and operated facility that has been welcoming guests since 2006. The Rex offers luxurious dog boarding and spa services in a truly unique and custom designed facility that your dog will love!

Outdoors we have designed a custom dog waterpark with jets, sprays, water balls, and pooling water for lots of fun. Comfortable decking surrounds the waterpark for lounging and watching the action. Indoors we have many play areas and lounge areas with custom designed dog play equipment. Our beautiful spa area offers a tranquil and relaxing environment for your dog to enjoy some extra pampering.

We have been in the dog care business since 1996. Our first facility, The Doghouse at Granville Island, was one of Vancouver’s first dog daycares. We opened our second daycare facility on Manitoba Street at West 8th Avenue in 1998.

Since we opened we have continually improved our facility and the service we provide to our guests, both two legged and four. If you have any questions, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help. We hope to welcome you soon.

Our Piper loves Rex and we do too.  I don't even know where to start. From the moment you check in your pup to pick up, the experience is positive and upscale. The facility is very much like a hotel, you have your front desk, spa, play and lounge area. They have both airconditioned/heated indoor and outdoor area equipped with a doggy water park. They take more than 150 high resolution photos a day and post them up on Flickr for you to enjoy. Did I mention they have a doggy water park?!?  We have used both their boarding and daycare services and Piper is a regular at daycare since she was 5 months old.  The best part is that they are open 365 days of the year and boarding is supervised 24/7. We predominantly used them on weekends and for boarding.

When you leave your pet in someones care you want to be assured they will love and care for them as you would. The Rex will do just that. While being boarded at the Rex our dog Gordy required unexpected Veterinary attention. The staff took great care of Gordy and the owners delivered him to the Veterinary clinic promptly, stayed with him and kept us informed of his status. When Gordy returned home and was recovering Barry telephoned several times to check on Gordy’s recovery. The entire experience showed my wife and I that the Rex and the staff genuinely care about the pets and value their customers. Gordy is healthy again and back enjoying his visits to the Rex.

The Rex is our “go to” when we need a place for our dog to stay and Tug loves being here. The staff are friendly, caring and knowledgeable and Tug always comes home happy and pooped from all the puppy play. Also, we always get him bathed at the “spa” and their doggy shampoo smells amazing . Excellent experience and would highly recommend.

Ivy loves Rex! Runs in and smiles at all the staff. Love getting photos of her day and can clearly tell the staff care about her and the other dogs.

The best place to spoil your pup while you’re at work, on holiday or just busy for the day. Not to mention their pool parties during the warmer months!

My mini dachshund Bute loves the Rex! They take excellent care of him in the spa, the daycare, and when I board him overnight. Amazing, friendly, caring staff and the pics they post are the best!

Rex Dog Hotel has generalized breed restrictions based off « years of experience » that has disqualified my mastiff puppy even a meet and greet for their day care services. I seriously question the professionalism of establishments like these and their actual knowledge of dogs when they implement such rules.  At least meet the dog before you say no, this is the most social pup who wouldn’t even bite into a pine cone and she can’t go to daycare?

My easy going relaxed happy puppy who loves all dogs and people shockingly tried to run out of the reception area the second time we brought her in for a trial. The feedback I got after the first and second trial is that she wanted out and was at the gate. This place rejected my dog based on that, and, I can't thank them enough. Two more trials with other places there was a mutual love, my dog was so excited and happy and clearly felt welcome and safe.  She did so well at the other places it was hard to choose.  Does Rex Hotel even like dogs? Do they know anything about dogs?  My dog does not have separation anxiety and yet she wanted out.  I wasn’t comfortable with the staff, hard to pin point. I don’t even want to know how she may have been ignored or treated for her to react that way.
