We found Revelstoke Property Services to be fantastic to deal with and we would certainly recommend using their services to anyone looking for a rental or vacation property in Revelstoke. They were understanding, considerate and professional in their management of my husband and I as new tenants, as well as being new to the community of Revelstoke. Our property managers Scott and Eve were both very knowledgeable of the town, and were able to provide us with a lot of information that helped us get settled in our new home and mountain town. We got to know Scott and Eve very well in our dealings with them as our landlords for over a year, and we found them to be very driven, motivated and hard working people who have built Revelstoke Property Services to the successful business it is today. I've rented with RPS for two years now in two separate locations and can highly recommend them. The whole process was very professional and friendly. If you want a clean home and a reliable landlord give them a call.

My wife and I had a very negative experience with Revelstoke Property Services, and wanted to offer a caution to others. It's a bit of a read - but probably worth your time if you're considering their services. We are a younger family who own properties in a similar resort town elsewhere and who ourselves are landlords. We operate a business providing Ski and Mountain Guiding Services and work periodically for a Cat Skiing Operation, based locally in Revelstoke. Our hope was to find short term (3 months) accommodation through RPS for the winter season. Despite the unit being overpriced ($2600/month), we agreed to the rental of a very modest, "fully furnished" apartment given a lack of rental options in Revelstoke in fall 2014. When it came time to move in, we were given the keys to a unit different to the one we had been shown during our initial viewing. The unit we were shown was fully furnished, and had both cable TV and internet in place - RPS told us these services would be included in our rental when we moved in. The unit we were ultimately given, included none of the above services, was semi-furnished (no kitchen table or chairs, and only basic cookery) from the time we moved in until leaving the unit, 2.5 weeks later. Given our schedules, we asked that the primary mode of communication be via email as we have no ability to answer phone calls while in the mountains, at work. For 2 weeks we consistently tried to communicate with RPS via email regarding arranging a time to, make payment for our first months rent (they were already holding a $1300 deposit from us), to have the move in inspection completed, and to remedy the situation with the services that had been promised to us, though still had not been installed. We visited the office in person as well during this time to address the concerns we had regarding the lack of Cable TV and Internet service and were told we would have to deal directly with the building owners, and essentially left to sort it our ourselves. Despite the multiple attempts, we received zero communication from RPS until 2 weeks later, when we received a single email from them and were threatened with eviction. I took an afternoon off work to visit the RPS office and try to resolve the situation. My experience of the owner, Scott Duke, during that meeting was he was confrontational, immature and showed a strong lack of professionalism in managing a difficult situation with a client. He was accusatorial, insulting and condescending . My wife and I chose at that time, to pay in full for the time we had stayed in their unit, however were reluctant given their conduct to make any further payments until our issues with the unit had been resolved. We had previously committed to 2 months in the unit which we felt somewhat obliged to uphold, and offered to fulfill that commitment and pay out the remainder of our rental term as agreed so long as the unit was brought up to the standards we had been promised prior to moving in. The response from RPS; they told us they would be terminating our tenancy in less than 48hrs, and the move out inspection would be done inside that time block. Something we've found out since, is illegal according to provincial tenancy laws. Finally, during the last week we were in the building, a note turned up in the communal laundry room of the apartment complex claiming that a young woman had been raped in the building the day prior. It could have quite likely been a joke in really poor taste, or could have been a cry for help. Either way, we made Scott Duke aware of the issue, and he nor anyone else at RPS ever followed up with us on the situation. With my wife and and our 3 year old daughter living in the unit, we thought it best not to continue to involve ourselves with Revelstoke Property Services, pay for the time we'd stayed in the unit, and to pass on our unfortunate experiences with this seemingly substandard organization, to others.
