I really enjoyed this place. They had wide varieties of food from breakfast to dinner so there's something for everyone. I would recommend that you order with the intention of sharing because the portions can be a bit small. We got the tomato soup, albacore ceviche, breakfast sandwich, and the mackerel spaghetti between three people. I would say my favourite was the mackerel spaghetti - it was very unique and had very interesting textures. But you should avoid this dish if you don't like overly fishy smells or flavours. Breakfast sandwich salmon was also very tasty but it was very tiny. I think I would like to try their sausage with the sandwich next time! They also seem to have a great selection of wines but I didn't get a chance to try them. I would visit again around the dinnertime to try other menus!
Had a great lunch here. We had a vegetable-focused lunch and every dish was perfect. Ended up going back twice. Fantastic breakfast dishes. Excellent beef tartare. Below average chocolate tart.
Popped in here for a quick bite and wow!! Such a cute gem and a great assortment of food and the drinks. I really like the menu and service. I would have tried their sandwich or brunch but I wasn't hungry enough. I really appreciated their alcohol free options. Also, bread was to DIE FOR
Our breakfast items were very flavourful! The atmosphere was lovely, and our hostess was super kind. Banoffee pie lacked a bit of flavour, but overall a great brunch
Some of the BEST pancakes I’ve ever had! Those little bite sides pancakes packed a punch of flavor and butter! Great coffee too! Also my husband had some sausage tasted homemade and the creaminess silkies scrambled eggs I’ve ever tasted in my life! Such a great cafe. Great coffee as well! Latte was so rich and creamy. On the way out we had a honey pastry STOP IT! So flaky and soft and chewy and delicious! We didn’t leave a crumb on those plates lol
Eating at Larrys was a good experience. Their sandwich’s were good, even with the service included I found them a bit on the expensive side, the staff was nice but the service was long. I find it amusing/weird that the service is included, but not the taxes, I think doing both would be a great idea ! Paying 8.5$ without taxes for French fries, but 7 for rillettes or terrine seems strange too ! Overall I think Larrys is probably aimed more toward breakfast than lunch or dinner experience, there menu made more sense in that category.
Walked in with no reservations on a Friday night, stumbling out of the nearby brewpub. Just with one look at the wine list we knew we would have a good time here. We ordered a few plates and wine, and in both cases were over the moon by how great everything was. The beets tasty, the mushrooms excellent and the spaghetti with mackerel was fantastic, tasted like a mix of Bolognese and fresh fish, just delightful. The wine list was perfect, with our meal, and our crazy after meal requests vin jaune, Jurançon, shots. Just a great experience with fantastic staff and delicious food. We stumbled in here by happenstance, but we will return.
Fantastic sharing/tasting plates for dinner, high quality ingredients, diverse and interesting bar menu, cosy atmosphere. Gratuity inclusive on the menu as well! DO NOT JUDGE BY THE MENU BY IT'S COVER! I was not particularly swayed by the simplistic one-page, few-word menu entries, and was, frankly, pretty turned off by the rather simplistic "lamb meatballs" and "frites" written on the menu as it was hard to imagine what I was going to receive. Lesson learned: Try all the food. Each dish was spectacular and the balance of interesting flavour pairings and quality of ingredients was not something I expected. We had a few helpings of the ceviche, lamb meatballs, frites, beef tartare, fiddleheads on toast, cucumber mint and feta, and a pulled pork sandwich and all were spectacular. Portions are not meant for a big, hungry guy/gal to get their fill at a decent price, but know that each bite is one you'll want to savour. Even something as simple as the frites were on point - perfectly cooked with a delicious house mayo and if you get the lamb meatballs, the frites will also serve as a wonderful way to lap up the remaining sauce. The seasonal special was a blood sausage which was smoky without being too rich. The wine, cider and beer selection are also top notch. Would highly recommend coming here!
I’ll start their review by saying for a quick breakfast this place is not cheap. BUT. This spot is necessary as they set a whole new standard for my morning breakfast. The quality in every dish is absolutely incredible. From the toast to the bacon, sausage and eggs everything is amazing. Larry’s is a must try.
Great place that serves pastries as well and boasts a very nice assortment of craft beers. We went for lunch and loved the small plates style meal. We got the beef tartare, chimichurri steak and hand cut fries. All were excellent! I'd be interested to try the kouign amann next time.
