Restaurant Solymar Laval

Everything was amazing, I've been eating at the original place for a couple of decades now. I'm a big fan and I was excited to see the new location. I wasn't disappointed with food and atmosphere, the only thing I was disappointed about was they did not have TAP to pay. It's 2024, I rarely carry my cards with me. Luckily I was with someone who I was able to e transfer and pay for big bill.

I loved Solymar restaurant. The food is D E L I C I O U S with a good number of options to choose from. The dishes are quite generous, so it is not necessary to order an entry unless it is to share.nThe passion fruit pisco sour is wonderful. We loved it.nThe service of the waiters is warm and friendly, as is typical of Latin people nIn general, it is an excellent place to enjoy the best of Peruvian food and a delicious pisco sour

This restaurant is huge, yet it is well-managed and efficient. Some of the dishes seem to be simple but turned out to be very tasty. For example, the mixed seafood soup and the steamed grouper fillet with beer velouté sauce have always been the must-order items on each visit. This place is surely on my list of frequent visited restaurants.

Very disappointing !nnWe reserved on purpose for December 31st at this restaurant because we were told on the phone the atmosphere will be amazing and there will be a DJ, dancers and danse floor to celebrate the new year. None told us we will be placed in the basement of the restaurant. Mind they weren’t even able to find our reservation made 10 days ago in advance at first. I would strongly suggest to close basement floor for next celebration event at this restaurant.nnThroughout the night, we felt there were 2 celebrations happening simultaneously in the restaurant, one on the main floor for new year festivities and us in the basement coming for a community meal in a basement of a church. Although at end, the organizer remembered us and send dancers to cheer up the atmosphere but the night was already ruined and whole experience is not justifiable for us to pay the same admission price than those on main floor.nnWe waited 2:30 hours for our food, which is in part understandable due to the number of guests in the restaurant at day. But the food was very saltier than usually, and felt not worth the price of holiday special menu. it came out to $100 + per person at the end.

Some of the best Peruvian food this end of the city. Highly recommended it if you want some delicious food and great service!
