Restaurant Le Vieux Cartier

Very happy to find this restaurant close by. Food choices are varied, beautifully presented, quality ingredients and well prepared. We chose from opposite ends of food choices, Club sandwich and poutine for me and from daily specials menu of brochette platter with additional add-on option of butterfly shrimp. The 3 dessert choices were good quality cakes, not sheet cake. The coffee was also very good. Everything was delicious, served hot, the service was attentive paying attention to my request for extra mayonnaise. We will definitely be returning to this restaurant

This restaurant was recommended by a friend; however, we found the food ordinary. It's good, but what made the experience not worth recommending to anyone else was the ambiance. When we were there for dinner, the TV was on...LOUD. It was so loud that we couldn't hear each other talk, me and my partner. Moreover, there were kids running around making noise while their parents were sitting at the bar. This was our experience on a particular evening, but you can have something completely different. The food is okay so if you're hungry it'll do. 3 years later: Came back here for a company Christmas dinner. The menu has changed a bit. I ordered the bruschetta for an appetizer. It's never a good sign when you correctly pronounce an Italian word but the waiter or waitress doesn't understand even when it's on the menu. The bruschetta [bru'sketta] was more like a pizza. It wasn't a real bruschetta. Despite that the majority of us did not finish our appetizers, the server served our main dish anyway. I didn't mind, but others in my group didn't like it. I tasted the poutine. While different restaurants have their own poutine sauce, this one adds cinnamon to their sauce. Some cinnamon lovers might like this, but it didn't taste good to me personally.

Good food, nice decor, friendly service

Ambiance is great food is not bad but could be better. Feel like they try to make up for it in style. Prices are decent for a trendy place!

This is the second time we've come to this restaurant, the food is as in any other restaurant, but we find disturbing: flies everywhere, the service is not professional at all, dirty glasses, and eventhough it was empty it took a long time to get our food.
