We have traveled extensively throughout the world, including Italy. Il Castello-Sweetsburgs food was quite good and well presented. The owner came to our table and told us about the 30-year history of the restaurant. We enjoyed his visit. I had the Linguine Daniela. It was very good. My wife had the Parmigiana. She was pleased with her choice. Our daughter, her husband and our grand-daughter were happy with their choices, although we were a bit surprised at the prices. What were not pleased with was our server. We spoke a mix of English and Spanish at our table between ourselves, although we were almost all fluently French, except me. Our server possible was not fond of Anglos or Hispanics and seemed to want to avoid us, while we watched her engage in happy conversation with other customers. Even when the owner told us that she was coming right out to take our order, she did, not but chose to speak and laugh with another couple and return to the kitchen. That was just one example. That sort of snobbery can ruin what could be an otherwise pleasant event. Overall, we were very pleased with our food but feel that the menu is a bit overpriced and the service was below par.

I have been living in the area for 10 years during the summer and had never heard about this place. It is by far a first class restaurant. Incredibly clean. Attention to detail and some of the best Italian food I ever had. A must go to spot.

I just read the nasty comment by Tiffany L and then looked at her other comments and it seems to me this person only likes to complain. This person should realize that arriving unannounced and with NO reservation on a Saturday evening, before the people who HAVE reserved have arrived, means that the possibilities of being seated are next to nil, especially at Il Castello. Just because some and perhaps most of the tables were empty when she arrived doesn't mean they weren't reserved. Did she really expect a reserved table to be given to her ? If this was done, what would happen when the people who did reserve arrive ? Tell them to wait ? I don't think so. That's not the way to run a good operation. I am sure that the owners of Il Castello will not care if Tiffany L never returns and I am sure that their many loyal customers will not be influenced in the least by her whining.
