Friday, September 16, 2022 Tonight we were a party of 5, three of whom had never tried Ethiopian food before. They loved it. We all loved it. Not only was it delicious, it was also presented so beautifully! And the roasting of the coffee beans right at the table after the meal was the perfect way to end our visit. Good ambience with smooth jazz lightly playing in the background, there was nary a seat to be had when we left around 9:20pm. Wonderful staff! So friendly and willing to answer our questions of which we had a lot! If you haven't been there, you must go. A treat is waiting to be had!
It was our first time trying authentic Ethiopian food and it was amazing! We love the way the meat in the Combination were served, which is also one of their popular dishes. The GoredGored was good, but probably a bit too raw and salty for us. We would like to try the raw meat again but with other type of sauce, if they have. The atmosphere brought to us the ethnicity of Ethiopia. Overall, a very good restaurant that must be checked out.
It was my first time trying Ethiopian food and I had the most wonderful experience at Rendez-Vous. We got the two meat and two veggies platter which you can see looks like a feast! Our group really enjoyed the food and the flavours were so wonderful. The restaurant had a great ambiance too, complete with beautiful background music and great service. We also got the Ethiopian coffee and watched the coffee ceremony. Our server roasted the coffee beans on a pan next to us and the aroma filled up the entire space. The coffee itself was very delicious. Even though we had it at 9 pm, we had no troubles falling asleep. Will recommend to anyone.
Overall, this was one of the best experiences that I had in a long time. The food was cooked to perfection and I really enjoyed it. This was a little bit different to my particular taste so as the meal went on I liked it more! Injera has an acquired taste so if it’s your first time, it will take time for you to get use to! Order number 68, it’s their most ordered meal and I love the ginger tea !
This is my first time trying Ethiopian cuisine and I wasn't disappointed at all!!!! It was a really peaceful meal. They were really quick and I loved the ambience. Street parking is hard to get but there is a Green Parking lot nearby. Definitely a great find!!!!
This was a top tier Ethiopian restaurant. The flavours were outstanding, and the injera was amazing. All of this, plus we ordered around 10pm on a Sunday. So if we can get good food at this odd time, imagine during the day.
My experience at this restaurant is a mixed feeling. While the food tasted great, the lighting was very dull. We couldn’t see what we were eating. I have been to totally dark restaurants that really enhance your other senses and such. But you walk in for that experience and you are informed and prepared for it in advance. Such wasn’t the case here. Also, felt the place is under staffed. The place was pretty full and only 2 people were handling everything, this impacted the service. Could have been a great experience but turned out otherwise. With respect to quality of food, it was just great! The food was fresh and tasted delicious. The quantity is generous as well.
It was our first time eating Ethiopian food and I can say that i was a good experience. The staff were amazing and the food was soo good! The app that we got was injera with chickpeas and i will get it again! The meat combo platter was reallt good altho i think i ordered the wrong thing cause i was going for the platter that had the side veggies. Overall, worth coming back.
After long while had a very delicious food. Authentic food with amazing taste. Will definitely come back again. Excellent customer service.
I love this place! The food is absolutely delicious and so flavorful. The staff was attentive and took great care of our large party of about 10. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in Toronto; if I was local I’d be eating here every week!
