From books... to the games that we sell, all is a form of recycling.
Our trade in programs help to keep our landfills free of re-useable merchandise, that often is needed by someone else.
We even recycle the shopping bags that we give to our purchasing customers.
+ we will even recycle your unused and broken electronics. From toasters broken or not to your obsolete computer. all is carefully disassembled by our staff and students.
All our fixtures, showcases, sometimes even the tools we use are often previously owned. So THANK-YOU to all who already know this and promote what we do, as to the others who don't, we welcome you aboard. Thanks for your time

Went to Quebec to visit some relatives who live in the Chute Du Grand Calumet area. We drove down to shawville to Cartrites to grab lunch and we visited Renaissance Variety. Received very rude vibes from whomever was working the counter. My French is broken as English is my first language so that’s understandably annoying but none the less we are all human and should respect each other. They have variety of games for all consoles but I feel that I didn’t receive the “RV Experience”.
RV is a staple of the Pontiac area, its always been a perfect hub for the gamer/reader/watcher within all of us.
What a quaint neat place. Very organized. Employees were very friendly and helpful. So many choices. I think that if you can't find what you want anywhere else then I'll be they have it there. We were visiting friends in chutes colonge, they took us there. Books, videos, video games, cds, dvds, lots of choices. Go have a look.
Renaissance Variety has very poor communication skills and will try to Scam you for your money , do not sell these people your Items, maybe buying might be better but they will try to scam you at any corner please do not give them your business unless you are looking to get ripped off
Started working at RV a few months ago, but I have shopped here for years. The staff is kind, knowledgeable, and always willing to help, and the products are always top quality. I always enjoy seeing what's new, from older Agatha Christie novels to new copies of Stardew Valley, and everything in between! Super lucky to be working here!
wonderful shopping experience, great selection of games, movies and books. we bought a few of each. everything was very well organized and easy to find. highly recommend, and will be making a point of checking them out regularly ourselves. also gave me a fair price for my wii and ds systems and games.
I don’t live anywhere near Shawville, but I do visit family there often. And I always stop by Renaissance Variety to pick up a stack of books to last until my next visit. There are used book stores much closer to me but RV has an excellent selection, better prices and better service so I always wait to go here. If you don’t know what books to get just ask the owner Jason and he will provide helpful suggestions.
Really great spot with large variety of older gaming systems as well a crazy amount of new and vintage books. The owner really knows his stuff, we went in looking for a N64 console and the owner went downstairs and checked one he just got in, and he ended up giving it to us at discount!
The owner and operator is charismatic and a true professional. He knows his books, his games and dvds... but most inportantly his customers. He is always willing to help, and even offer to take your name and number should he not have the item you're looking for and it turns up later. For the environmentally conscious, this store is as green it gets. Buy used. Trade in. Or drop off free for others to enjoy.
I went to this place just abit ago, didn't know it was there the entire 10 years I've been around the Shawville area, guess I have a terrible eye. They've got more than you'd expect them to have so be happy about that. The people who work there obviously love technology, video games, computers, movies, books, etc. There's many services they can provide, like repairing certain things and taking returns for cash I believe. The reason I went there was because I bought an antique 1986 Roland keyboard but it didn't have a power chord, and they had on sitting out back, mind you it's a more rare type of chord I needed. To add to the order I got 3 movies for 10 or 15$ i can't remember. They got these incent sticks burning around the rooms to make it smell nice, classic movies everywhere from horror to comedy, huge selection of books too, video games, computer parts, etc. It's a small building and it's packed with the things you'd most likely be looking for for a low price, and I believe they test things that are given to them first to see if they actually work. Very noice. triagletehobjectthingy seems kind of salty, you always got that one guy
