If you’re considering relying on the REM in Brossard, don’t. It’s almost never fully operational — constantly under maintenance or affected by strikes. When it is down, the replacement shuttle service is chaotic at best. We were traveling with a toddler and watched two shuttle buses drive right past us without stopping, despite being clearly visible and waiting at the designated stop. It’s not just inconvenient — it feels outright dismissive.nnThis system was supposed to be a reliable solution for commuters. Instead, it’s become a source of stress and frustration. When it does work though, it’s a good option to use. Especially if you have kids, it’s a fun outing. Until they fix these serious issues, avoid at all costs. They have been closed every weekend since March and will close entirely from July 5-August 17.
Terrible experience at REM station this morning. My ticket pass was demagnized when I arrived, and the staff had no idea how to help. Rather than immediately directing me to a kiosk to check the card, they insisted I buy 10 new tickets first. Only after I'd already purchased them did they think to bring me to the kiosk—where the attendant confirmed the card was indeed demagnized. Since my card still had 7 remaining tickets, I then had to buy another 3 tickets to cover the difference. In total, I spent another 50ish dollars and 20 minutes because of poor staff training and lack of basic problem-solving. Extremely disappointed.
Rode the REM just for fun from central station to Brossard, and it was such an amazing ride.nnThe cars are smooth and comfortable and the views were spectacular. Specially going over the Champlain Bridge and approaching the Montreal skyline.
Piece of cake to get to the terminal station from autoroute 10.nLots of free parking 2000+ cars capacity with security cameras ad nauseam.nFastest way to get to downtown Montreal from Brossard area at very reasonable prices for such a brand new infrastructure.nBreathtaking scenery of downtown on the way in...nOnly caveat, no restrooms...? nI'm hooked now, no more driving my car in heavy potholed traffic.
We been there and the statue was awesome. The ride was awesome and it’s automatic light rail . The skyline view of the city at île des soeurs was spectacular. The maintenance was top notch.nnThey currently like 2P parking and seems almost like 3000 parking lots at Brossard station.nnLike 2 passages costed me like around 9$ CAD .nnWe took fromnBrossard to gare centrale and currently that’s the only one working.nnOverall waiting to see more stations come by on the go and really curious to see how they are gonna handle during winters and heavy snow storms especially in a place like Montreal. The entrance music of the train sounds refreshing.nThey need to clean the front view mirrors as it’s full of dead flies stuck.nnAlso atm there are staff that are guiding passengers at Brossard station and May be planned to have proper entry for entry and exit in near future.nnWhat happened to AC ? Why no AC ? Feels hot inside though. Cmon we are in 2023 folks and Canada is called developed country for a reason fam… When a foreigner comes in it must make them feel likenCool daWg !!! it’s fine to turn on heating during winters but it’s bright hot outside and no AC in an advanced railnSystem means ????nnAnyways , Wishing all the best to the entire team of REM.
