I wanted to share an experience I had in your store today around 12:30 p.m. especially being new in the area I will not be coming back.nnI had a few empty coffee cups and was trying to find a garbage to throw them out. I couldn’t locate one, this blonde supervisor walked by me and responded by saying “the garbage is between the freezers” in a dismissive tone and walked away without showing me where it was. I looked but still couldn’t find it, which made me feel a bit embarrassed standing there with the cups. I eventually asked another employee, and he kindly took the cups from me and threw them out.I appreciate the help from the second employee, but I feel the supervisor could have handled the situation more professionally by simply directing me or pointing out the garbage instead of walking away. Good customer service makes a big difference in how customers feel in the store.nI just wanted to bring this to your attention.nnThank you.
Decent selection but the store itself isn’t pleasant to go to. The fridges are all dark, making it difficult to see anything. The checkout lanes are also remarkably narrow- if you’re any sense of overweight there’s a good chance you wouldn’t fit through them. Food prices are standard for Canadian grocery prices.
A good place to shop. Helpful staff. Usually well stocked. Don't carry everything I like but then who does? They bag the groceries and take them to my car. I don't know of any other store that offers a carry-out.
I had a couple problems in the summer with fridges being warm and the cheese section. At that point, I brought to someone attention and he shrugged and said we should look into that after I asked what he was gonna do with the cheese that had gotten literally soft and off he said I don’t know. they in fact sold it. Today I went in and there was ground beef that had dust and dirt on top and I wipe my hand thinking what is this? I looked up and there was mould on the grates all the way across I informed the meat manager, he said, huh? I just washed that and did nothing and the dirt from construction apparently according To him. I then spoke to the owner who informed me that they just passed their inspection from the health department recently and that there are mould in grocery store sometimes. He then said he’s been in the business 40 years and it’s fine. It’s not fine.
“I had a really great experience shopping at this Valu-mart. The staff are friendly and welcoming. A young lady who helped me her name sounded like Maychol or Michelle was not only very polite and helpful, but also truly beautiful inside and out. She made sure I found everything I needed and made the whole visit pleasant. Great customer service!”
