Really good price for down town. Location is excellent. Place was very clean but old building. We couldn't get into our room at 4 as it wasn't ready yet and a pile of laundry was left in the hallway. Only decaffeinated coffee was left in the room. All minor things and i would stay again at that price. Front desk was very nice and helpful. Allowed us to park there while we we at an appointment after check out. Overall good . They have a free breakfast but we didn't check it out.

Really enjoyed my stay. The staff was friendly and accommodating, esp. Emma in the breakfast room! Location is excellent, price is reasonable. I liked the convenience of a full kitchen. Other amenities are standard. Would love a mirror in the fitness room and a kettle in the suites. Overall, clean and comfortable. Would stay again.Rooms: 4/5

Avoid this place based on the human factor. The front desk staff at this Calgary location do not posses the people skills to handle guests properly. When thinking about staying at the Coast Calgary Downtown Hotel, evaluate for a moment if you have the energy or patience to deal with rude people …I do not. Coast Hotels seems to have some IT issues. Their system misused my email address for a booking confirmation for a completely unrelated guest. At first, I could not guess where the Coast Calgary Downtown Hotel had any of my personal information since I have never stayed with them, and I did not make that reservation. Then, I remembered I stayed once at another Coast Hotel location in Canada, a long time ago. Nothing big happened at the end, my credit card was not charged, that other guest stayed and left the hotel, without any issues, I hope. But my concern was that if the hotel system used my email address “by mistake”, could they use any other personal private information “by mistake” again? I kept following up with them because I was told they would update me. Four days passed and no one contacted me. Finally, I had a highly unpleasant telephone interaction with the front desk manager I already had a bad experience with another front desk lady. The manager was condescending and rude. Tried to be very smart pointing out how “capable” his IT department is based on the number of years they studied at the university. Gave me a totally uncalled for speech. I do not know who he thought he was talking to, but all the talk about the “highly qualified” team made their IT look even less qualified. If they are so highly trained, why were they misusing my personal private information in the first place? I have worked in hospitality and customer service and these front desk personnel do not know how to interact with other people. They lost me as a customer before I could become one. There are ways and ways of dealing with issues. I cannot imagine staying at this hotel, having some sort of problem, and then having to interact with THAT front desk manager in-person!. He has no manners nor people skills. Based on the 2 of the 3 interactions I had with front desk staff at this hotel, I doubt they focus on customer satisfaction here. I have heard that hotels are having issues with finding qualified staff and this must be proof of it. Poorly trained, ill-mannered people in front of the house positions. Frankly, it makes the hotel look bad. Their IT department also does not make a good impression. No matter how good the location or facilities are, the staff plays a big role in your overall experience at the hotel. Needless to say, I will never stay at the Coast Calgary Downtown Hotel nor any other Coast Hotel and will share this experience with friends and family.

My 3 sisters and I had lots of room and enjoyed the breakfast. Great price, great location. My sister wondered why it was only rated as a 2 star hotel. Rooms were clean. Glad there was water, pop and other snacks at front desk. Staff were very accommodating to all questions and needs.Rooms: 5/5

Very good value in downtown Calgary, close to the river pathway and the Peace Bridge, so we were able to walk everywhere. The room was a good size and the kitchen was a welcome addition. The hotel had just switched to a breakfast to go option, which we took full advantage of every day. Staff were very helpful and pleasant to deal with.

Front desk was help. Building’s view is nice. Good location. Tasty breakfast! The building is a bit dated, the elevator is small, the dining area is small. No dishwasher detergent was provided.

This hotel is incredibly dated and represented inaccurately on the website. It is NOTHING like the picture. The rooms are small and old. The bathroom is TINY and the noise from other rooms and hallway are ALWAYS audible. Unless you are interested in living in a "tiny house", this hotel is not the place to be. We tolerated this short stay as it would be too difficult to book a new hotel on the spot. 1 of 2 elevators was broken, the breakfast buffet was also inadequate to serve the people in the hotel. With a kitchen in the room, we smelled whatever anyone in the hotel was cooking and most often it was not good. Although the staff was responsive and friendly, the hotel itself was only a step above a seedy by-the-hour room rental. We would not recommend this hotel or stay there again!

Othman at the front desk was the embodiment of the perfect example of a hospitality service host. The logistics of my stay and experience were seamless due to his professionalism and demeanor. The guy is awesome at his job, and I wish all hospitality experiences were as as positive as this one. Hotel was nice, rooms always clean. Great stay.

For the price we paid it was excellent. The breakfast every morning was great! Location is awesome, walking distance to all downtown amenities! Our room was clean and spacious, enjoyed my stayRooms: 5/5

The suite was great, the kitchen had everything I needed. Fantastic value in downtown YYC. They allowed me to securely check my luggage for a few hours after I checked out. Very comfortable clean bed.
