Fast service and lovely waitresses are one big part of this amazing place. We ordered the Mexi Bowl, Pulled Chicken Quesidias, Chicken Marsala Crepes, and a kid's pizza. All were lovely and came quickly. Fantastic all around, would definitely come back again. P.S. They have the most DELICIOUS carrot cake ever!
I am very disappointed. The food was not good at all. Our appetizer pulled pork egg roll was super greasy and blend. My main dish Gourmet Chicken Sandwich was far from what I expect for this price. Two slices of soft bread, a tiny tiny bit of the cranberry mayo, avocado, spinach and chicken. Nothing special about it, dry and very unpleasant. My husbands burger was very greasy too. I wish your plates would be a bit smaller but with more effort into taste and look. Staff was great though and the bistro is nice!
Tap beer not cold and flat. Soda also flat.. ask for a can instead of off the fountain. Side salad all soggy which even gets the bun soggy. Gravy super cheap and jelly. The patty on the burger was good though.
Don't let the humorous name of this restaurant fool you. It is a very good gastro-pub! There really are 20 different beers on tap, including several craft beers brewed in Ontario. And the food is very delicious. The interesting menu offers a variety of gourmet meals; everything from salads to Mexican-inspired dishes to chicken to steak. The service is very good and friendly. The prices are reasonable. There is a big outdoor patio as well as a screened-in porch if you are finicky about bugs. So if you are anywhere near Calabogie, do drop in. You will not be disappointed!
Erica could have been a little more attentive with our drinks, also forgot my ketchup I asked for as my Roadkill burger was over cooked/dry and my Caesar salad looked from a package. My wife had the salmon which was also over cooked and didn’t have much mash or veggies with it. My daughters nachos were super good but I think they ran out of cheese because there wasn’t much on it. Owner or alpha manager lady looked angry.
"Oh, are you allergic to bacon?", was what I was asked when I requested my "vegetarian" spinach dip and bread that had bacon on them to be replaced. Um?? I'm not sure what we expected from a place called Redneck Bistro, but the food was subpar, the ambiance was surprisingly tense/unpleasant, and the staff seemed miserable. When I asked if the restaurant was among the more popular places, the server responded saying it's the only place other than the brewery in town. Well, the process of elimination can be a good business model, I guess. 1/5 stars for food, vibe, service, price. Do yourself a favour and go to the brewery across the street.
Friendly and fast service. My hubby said it was the best burger he has had in years! I had the Calabogie Hoagie and it was ridiculously good. Can't recommend this place enough!
my 2nd time dining here. Service was amazing. Food was fresh and cook to perfection. Presentation of the food and atmosphere was amazing Parking: Parking right up front
Great atmosphere and overall energy from entertainment and staff, would have got a 5 but the steak came I had to wait for the mushrooms that were steamed or nuked without butter seem blah for beauty 10oz cut served by a butcher, think i got excited when i heard through waitress the cook is a butcher but great cut very flavourful perfection, potatoes were dry and veggies look meh, beer was awesome and the appetizer was incredible but they were so busy by the time we got the chilli sauce the wife and I mustered our strength to barely wait, the fish tacos were to die for... straight up!, fries were good too, live music really added to the atmosphere, when he stopped playing the air was full of laughter and voices which also were good but it did feel more interactive and entertained obviously when he communicated between songs.... So again a 4 but potential to be a 5+ star all day long
Oh boy!!!what a fun experience! I’ve heard about this place from friends. I’ve been twice and was very happy with the experience. Once for lunch and once for dinner. Service is excellent and staff is very friendly, food is very good thus far. The place is very quaint and has a nice ambiance. Their ribs are finger licking good. Note that they do not do breakfast menu.
