The Redcliff Public Library was opened in 1967 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the confederation of Canada. At that time the library was the called The Redcliff Centennial Library. In 1983 a new library was constructed under the name of the Redcliff Public Library at its present location on Main Street. This new facility enabled the library board to provide for more services, space and materials for the Redcliff Public. Little did the board know how fast things would change in the next several years!
The Redcliff Public Library has over 20000 books on its shelves. In addition, there are 1108 compact discs providing musical enjoyment for those who request it. There are also 1071 video cassettes and DVDs. Selections of best sellers and classics are featured on approximately 1043 talking books on tape and CD for those who would rather "hear" a book than read it. The Redcliff Public Library has 70 magazine subscriptions and two daily newspapers covering every aspect of one's needs. There are 36 Children's Kits and over 1000 items to choose from on the OverDrive digital collection.
