"The Red Lion Room was officially re-established in 2019.The Red Lion Room is located in the Windsor Hotel. “The Windsor Block” was built in 1873 and extended to Downie Street. Over the last 100 years, the hotel has carried a few other names, 23 Albert Place being one; finally, it arrived back at the Windsor Hotel.The decision to open the Red Lion Room as a jazz lounge was easy, especially after speaking with many people in Stratford and looking at what Stratford was missing after Down The Street sold and was remodeled.Simple understandable food; support for the craft beer movement; delicious value vino; a quiet place to relax even on Mondays. That’s our twist on history."

We went to the Red Lion Room for their soft opening. They are not fully staffed yet and are working out the kinks. My ratings for the different aspects are as follows. Ratings are out of 5 stars max Drink menu - 5 stars - The hand-crafted syrups for their signature drinks are amazing! You won't find cocktails like these anywhere else. Appetizers - 4.5 stars - The smelt and scallops were very good 4 stars The Risotto and salads were 5 stars. Main Course - I can't really give a rating as we were there mainly for appetizers and drinks. I did try a bite of my table mate's steak and although it was a bit blue for my liking, it was very flavourful Atmosphere - 5 stars - This is an excellently appointed dining room. The finishes are upscale and very well put together. The entire restaurant is inviting and the lighting is appropriate for the different dining and lounging areas. We checked out the different types of seating were all very comfortable. We were lucky enough to experience the musical stylings of a local duet, Tina & Tim. Vocals and a guitar were all they needed to have the majority of patrons singing right along with them. Staff - 5 stars for the staff. Although it was their first night opening, the staff made us feel welcome. They are very attentive. When mistakes were made they were eager to rectify and satisfy. Hugh, the manager came over to every table to ensure each patron was enjoying their drinks and meals. Our servers, Matthew and Joel checked on us regularly to make sure we were taken care of. The head bartender, Alex, came by every so often to check how we liked our drinks, as he hand-crafts the syrups for their signature cocktails. Overall I would say 4.5 stars for our experience. I think they picked a good time of year December to have their soft opening. Working out the kinks in time for Festival season in Stratford will be a key factor to their success. Our family will definitely be returning for another enjoyable night!
We had a great experience at the Red Lion lounge last night for dinner and drinks. The atmosphere was relaxed and the live piano set the mood just right for this creole inspired gem. Definately worth revisiting. Great job guys!

Great relaxed but classy atmosphere. Would stay just for the music but the food and beer were amazing!
It's not a place I would normally go to but I was pleasantly surprised. The menu had lots of options and reasonable prices. The chairs were comfy and place had a nice ambiance. Servers were very friendly and helpful regarding my friends dietary needs. Food was so delicious and flavorful.
During this time of COVID, had take out. It was all very good. Jambalaya very tasty, Nashville chicken bites, Fried shrimp Po Boy, Tater tots were great. Host threw in cheese cake for my wife's birthday. Thank you! Will definitely be back.
We had a lovely meal at the Red Lion. The fried chicken was deliciously crispy with a delicious cream sauce. My husband enjoyed the mussels very much, and the chef was very accommodating of my husband's food sensitivities.
Unique in Stratford. Very cozy and comfortable; an old-fashion lounge in a very pleasant environment. Lots of beers on draught and an excellent wine list very fairly priced. Food is mainly tapas sized although there are larger entrees available. I have found service to be excellent and there is often discrete live entertainment.
Visited this place during covid19 and used their curbside pickup. We had the BBB Brisket Beef on a Bun and Cauliflower Po'Boy sandwich. Both were delicious. Kennedy was pleasant on the phone and the timing was reasonable. Can't wait to go back post-pandemic to enjoy the in house experience.
Lovely atmosphere and good drinks...yet I was told "you're not welcome here" after i came back from a 5 minute smoke outside. I assume they thought I wasn't going to pay even though I was in earlier that same evening and paid for my drink before. It's insulting that it was assumed I wouldn't pay, the owner or manager needs a lesson in people skills for sure and I will definitely not be returning.
