Came in for lunch. Took a long time for the server come take our order despite us being the only ones in the restaurant, although it did seem like there were a lot of take-out orders. We ordered drinks with our meal Caesar and a rum and coke. The server came back and told my fiancé that rum and coke wasn’t available and if he’d like something else. He declined, although she had to come back and ask again because as he was answering her the phone rang and she picked that up instead and walked away. The Caesar I ordered just never showed up and wasn’t mentioned again. A different server came around to ask my fiancé if he wanted his water refilled. I passed my glass over as well and once again was completely ignored. The food was decent but nothing was outstanding. The few times I’ve dined in there has always been something in my order that is unavailable. This time, however, I felt completely overlooked by both servers in addition to not getting what we wanted. Looking forward to another sushi option opening up downtown Castlegar.
If you visit Castlegar and crave sushi, so this is the place. I love the cozy ambiance, and the food is excellent, also. And the price is reasonable. Friendly and quick service and they could accompany with your request. I love Alex, she is so helpful and friendly in assisting us to choose the right dishes.
I love the Asian food in West Kootenay but Red Fin remains my favorite. Staff is terrific, atmosphere is great, food us superb.Food: 5/5
I've ordered takeout here 3 times now, and each time I've been impressed with the food, the presentation, and the service! I love that the menu has lots of clearly- marked vegan options. The servers have been extremely pleasant and professional each time I've gone in, and my food is always ready promptly and is very delicious! This has quickly become my favourite restaurant in Castlegar. Vegetarian options: Vegan and vegetarian options are both clearly and distinctly marked on the menu so I can order with confidence! That's a thing I wish way more restaurants would do, so I appreciate that it's a feature here.
I was skeptical to eat sushi or not. But however, after eating 3 dishes, Dragon roll, Crazyboy roll, California roll, I loved it. Ordered again few other items the very next day. Go for it

I was deceived into thinking my order was going to take 10 minutes. They were 20 minutes late with it, resulting in me missing the crucial end to a basketball game. They gave us no ETA on our order, and there was no “sorry for the wait” upon finally getting our food. I expected more from the most highly-touted sushi eatery in our town. I can’t wait for Sushiwood to get here.
