Came here for my birthday dinner and thought we would try a new place. Walking through the door is a cute dining area with a nice atmosphere. The place is clean, the seats are comfortable. The music is a bit repetitive with streaming ads randomly thrown in. The lady serving us seemed very distracted or just not wanting to be there tonight. There was only one other couple in the dining room with a few to-go orders during our time there. We all ordered tea, got the tea, poured the tea for 4 small cups and the pot was empty. It would be another 20 min for more hot water, pretty sure she forgot about it. She was ok at serving but could add some smiles or a bit of banter to make the experience better. The food came out in a decent amount of time and was just ok. I had the five color vermicelli, with the fish sauce it was ok. I had to add a bit of soy sauce to give it a bit of flavor. The meats in it were good except the beef, it tasted a bit off. The spring rolls that came with the dish were very amazing. the picture I'm posting was my wife's chicken lemongrass, she has the same opinion about her dish If you're really wanting Vietnamese food and you're in the area then sure you can go here but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again. There is a lot of choice in this part of St. Albert. Parking: Lots of parking for dinner on Thursdays Wheelchair accessibility: Flat entrance, corner might be a bit tough for a chair but no stairs Dietary restrictions: I have a peanut allergy, they adjusted the dish to remove the peanuts.
It's been my second day here and the food is amazing, full of flavor and spiciness is just right to me. Prices are fair and excellent service. I have to come back for a third time for sure
Stopped by there today for dinner. Ordered p/u and it was ready when they said! They were fast, polite and the food. The food is hands down the best Vietnamese in St. Albert! The flavour is amazing, the salad rolls and peanut sauce are the absolute best and the pork spring rolls are to die for. The chicken Pad Thai is also phenomenal! Amazing job to this restaurant keep it up!! You've just gained a loyal customer!
Our first time here and we will definitely be back. Our reason for going was because this restaurant supported my friend Sierra Glew. Sierra is 20 years old and was born with Down syndrome. This restaurant supported the Sail House foundation which supports adult independent living. We bought a coupon to support my friend Sierra to use for restaurants in St Albert were we would receive a free appetizers.. We had the lemongrass chicken on rice and grilled pork on vermicelli noodles with a side of spring rolls. The food was amazing but even better was the service & the sauces. We met the owner I didn’t get his name and he was such a nice man telling us about how he runs the food truck for the restaurant and his wife usually runs the restaurant. He brought us out some homemade spicy chilli oil sauce that was delicious and a peanut sauce for my fiancés chicken dish. Again amazing. His service was nothing short of spectacular. On the way out I wanted to thank him for supporting my friend Sierra Glew and he was very honoured to do it. But truth be told his wife Cathy I think that’s her name, I’m sorry if I got it wrong did this and I explained the story of what his wife’s charitable contribution meant to me and for giving my friend Sierra her independence. I dine out a lot. Especially love Vietnamese food. Tonight I decided to try out this restaurant. It did not disappoint, as a matter of fact I'm very impressed, the food was amazing, service was excellent and truly friendly. we had spring rolls, salad rolls, beef noodle soups and pad Thai and it was all perfect! My family loved the cozy atmosphere. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone that appreciates tasty food. I will be back for sure! The flavours are good. First time I ordered soup and a bowl was good. Second time I ordered salad rolls and pad Thai. Salad rolls were missing basil, had not much shrimp and very little peanut sauce. The pad Thai was generous in size but was very oily. That is pretty amateur. Flavour was good but it left oil in my mouth. Not the way to prepare noodles, at least for my taste.
Finally decided to give this place a try and to say it was awful would be an understatement. We ordered the Pad Thai, Lemon grass chicken and green onion cakes. To start the green onion cakes were so over done they were almost a powder, the pad thai had maybe seven half a bite size peices of chicken and zero flavour and the lemon grass chicken was 99.999% noodles and 4 carrot slivers and just enough chicken to not make it false advertising. Will definitely not be going back.
I’ve been trying to find a good authentic Vietnamese restaurant and I finally found one. After trying multiple, multiple restaurants this is my family’s go to place. The pho broth is amazing, you can tell but the way you can taste all the spices and the smell ….. yum. My go to would be anything with noodles , Pho, vermicelli noodles and the pad Thai its all my fav …. U can’t go wrong . My kids and hubby love rice dishes and anything rolled up. From salad rolls to spring rolls and not to mention the pancakes they have. Every time we go it’s a buffet and then food coma afterwards. Thank you red brick wall for always taking care of us and knowing what we want
Tuck away in the heart of Grandin lays a hidden secret packed full of incredible flavour. You walk into the space greeted with that cute and warm smile of a golden Buddha surrounded by greenery. The space is cute yet cozy with murals of local artist covering the walls around you for added ambiance. Bamboo finishes and orchards dress the tables which are place spaciously to add that extra safety precautions for those dining in. The staff are warm and welcoming adding that extra value to the space which is hard to find at times. Now to the food, where do I start... I picked the Grilled Lemongrass Vermicelli Bowl with the Grilled Rolls, and a side of chicken salad rolls. The flavours were perfect paired with how fresh each ingredient placed so well to make it such an awesome choice. The salad rolls neatly prepared and also so fresh you wonder if two was enough. I was extremely happy with my choice to try this place out. There’s many options in the city but what it comes down to is the service, how fresh and well attentive the meal is made, and the flavours it punches when you try it. Whether you’re dinning in or taking out this is a must try on the list. Luckily for me it’s just around the corner so it’ll be my new favourite spot. Don’t waste anymore time reading go check them out!! Enjoy!
Ordered through UberEats. Not sure I'd order again. Horribly salty wings, and don't get me wrong.. I LOVE salt! But these were so overpowered by salt that I couldn't enjoy them at all and they were barely covered on some wings. They also did not call to substitute for a dish that they ran out of, which skip usually does and its appreciated, they just took it off the bill. And did not provide the fish sauce for one of their vermicelli bowls we ordered. Unfortunate since it has such a great rating! The soup was okay, could've used more flavour I think. *update* I appreciate the owner contacting me and offering a refund for the sugar / salt mistake! Maybe in the future when dine-in is allowed, we'll come give it another try!
